Huh, I've used my Moby for back carries many, many times with absolutely no issue.

There's the risk that the baby can throw himself out of it. The stretchiness of it is what makes it unsafe. Back carries are perfectly safe in a woven wrap. I know with dd, once she got to a certain weight and strength, she could push herself off my chest and the wrap moved. There's no way I would ever put my baby in a back carry in a stretchy wrap. It just isn't secure enough for my comfort level.
