candida and thrush

How could I get rid of them? I am nursing a 15-months-old. I am afraid my son could get them from me. We both have been taking probiotics for a while.

I found Jack Newman's candida protocol extremely helpful. The APNO is great. Gentian Violet is messy but works well. I always feel like the grapefruitseed extract helps, but make sure not to overconcentrate it as it can cause irritation. Good luck!

have you tried applying yogurt vaginally? that can ease discomfort and restore the balance.

thanks for the yogurt suggestion. I don't have any vaginal itching though

How important is to use Newman's protocol for candida? WHat if I just eliminate all sugars (fruit in my case, and glutenous carbs)? Will the diet alone help? I've been always using the probiotics, now I will use them more times a day, the same for my DS.

I'd like to ask if these syptoms mean my son is suffering from thrush or candida as well. He has white discharge from his yes and nose, not too much, but it dries up and leaves white marks, that's how I noticed. He wheezes as if clears his throat all the time, and scratches his nose and eyes even during sleep. Does this all mean he is contaminated by candida, like his nose, eyes, esophagus, and that all causes irritation? How can I find out? I have thrush on my nipples and not sure what to do about it. I gave up all fruits and glutenous grains, take probiotcis and give them to DS. WHat can I do to see if thrush is al over our bodies? How could we get rid of it?

Grapefruit Seed Extract

My DS and I had thrush for about 4 months. I kept trying gentian violet but it was temporary. But, I was able to fix it in this way:

I used grapefruit seed extract in the liquid form. I took it three times per day with 15 drops in a 3oz glass of water. It took a little over a week. I gave DS gentian violet to get it started, we haven't had it since.

My son and I are severly populated with candida. I have finally figured out where his anemia, fussiness, etc. come from. I am so terrified to even think that he's had it since birth. Has anyone experienced anything like that? I want for us both to get rid of it; I am so tired of it myself. I am trying a grapefruit seed extract and gentian violet, but have no idea what to do for my son, and if it will be helpful at all.

Vinegar in the rinse cycle when you do the laundry. Put it in a downy ball. Probiotics for you both (which you're already doing). GSE for you. I would only use GV when you really need it--like when you're in pain when nursing.

great idea about the laundry! thank you!
I've been doing the GSE for 3 days now, applying it on nipples too. Today I will pick up APNO from the pharmacy, too. I am trying the non-candida diet and am wondering if I should try it for my son. Like, no giving him fruit, for example, or carbs, or yogurt. I know cheese is bad durng candida treatment, how about yogurt? Some ND recommend it because it has probiotics.

I've tried talking to some experts, and they say there is too much controversial info about candida, and you can easily confuse it with something else.
