Tell me about Headsprout. (Ignore Mindsprint post)

Thread Starter
I am interested in purchasing Headsprout for my DD7 , DS8. They are just starting to show an interest in learning to read better. From the sample lessons it looks as if this program may be the one for us.

Any suggestions, thoughts, or personal stories?

TIA

My DS (5) is currently using Headsprout and really enjoys it. I can see that he is making great progress in learning to read and he really enjoys the episodes. I know I'll want a follow up phonics program, though, and I'm not yet sure which one I will choose.

My 5yo uses Headsprout too Most of the time he loves it, although there's one particular activity he hates so I help him speed it along He is on lesson 34 out of 80 and recognizes quite the sounds that quite a few letters make and can sound out some words

we used headsprout with my dd when she was 6. my ds also uses it currently & he's 5. he's only on episode 13 & we started in early september, but he rotates with bob books, hooked on phonics, & reading eggs (we have a free 6 week subscription there currently as well). anyway - headsprout is very good imho. when my dd used it, she didn't really like it so much, but i can honestly say her reading began to click after using it. my ds actually really likes it a lot though & is already reading small books. it's $199 for the full 80 episodes, but i found it half off with a coupon code. my son also loves readingeggs.com, but headsprout is probably better suited for your children's ages. hth.
