PLEASE, help me come up with some snacks

I just found out that I was pregnant with #2 . Here is the issue... I have been Gluten/starch/sugar free for almost a year and should be dairy free and nut free. The last few days I NEED to eat every two hours or I get dizzy and or nauseated
I am on the road most of the day so the normal things that would require refrigeration are doable but not great. So what do you think? I was thinking of making a bean dip with white beans, small cups of chicken salad, fruit, veggies... but then I am lost.
I am <just> pregnant and if this continues, it will be a long pregnancy with little variety HELP

Ok, so you have a lot of dietary restrictions, but need healthy fats and protein to keep that dizzy feeling away.

Hard boiled eggs (devilled if you have time, for variety)
beef jerky
coconut oil chocolate bark
egg salad
homemade protein bar type thingys?

hhmmmmmmmmmmm...

Applegate Farms makes a meat stick that's similar to a Slim Jim but with none of the bad ingredients; I think it's pretty TF compatible and definitely very portable: http://www.applegatefarms.com/produc...l.aspx?id=1858

coconut milk yogurt (since its cultured, it can sit at room temp for a day, just like yogurt though I wouldn't leave it in a hot car)
lentil salad with good fat in the dressing (though that might be a starch I guess?)
I don't know how startch free you are, but a baked sweet potato with butter (even cold they're good) if you can
even "fruit and veggies" can be varied if you make it. with bean dip one day, hummus another, olive tapenade, salad dressing, aoli, and different veggies.

Congratulations I was the same, I needed to eat protein every two hours or less. I ate lots of meat. When you say you are on the road are there places you can stop in, naybe with ethnic grocery stores? That could be helpful. Also, as PP suggested lots of boiled eggs, these are easy to carry around if you put a couple in a container.

Roasted garbanzo beans

Apparently garbanzo beans can be roasted and eaten as a snack, similar to nuts. I haven't tried these yet, but I tore out a similar recipe from Bon Appetit: http://kalynskitchen.blogspot.com/20...nzo-beans.html I think it sounds really good!

i am so delighted to read your post!

i am pg with #2, due end of july, and have your exact dietary requirements (though nuts are my friends). so i'm watching this thread with you!

so far, it's been eggs, egg salad, chicken, chicken salad, and lots of vegetables and some fruit. oh, and butter. lots of butter. as much as i love all of these things, i am also getting that "this is going to be a loooong" pregnancy feeling.

What about a nutrient dense smoothie? You can blend fruit, greens, nut butter or coconut oil, coconut milk, chia or flax seeds, etc. all into a big smoothie and keep it in a thermos to keep it kind of cold and sip from it all day...

I also love eating nuts as a snack--super nutrient dense and filling.

ETA: Oops--I clearly missed that you're avoiding nuts!!! Sorry!

I was thinking in the car today and I thought that I could make different soups and freeze them in little containers and heat them when I am in the office or just eat them cold. Anyone have good soup recipes... I can't eat many beans(just white and black) and no corn... but I am game for everything else

What about curries? Turkey curry, curries with white beans instead of garbanzo, etc.
I don't have a recipe for one, but hamburger soup is tasty.
Salmon jerky
Olives
Guacamole
Cold left over meats

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Can you have peanuts/peanut butter? Those are legumes, not nuts, so I'm not sure if you're OK with those or not. How about seeds? Can you have trail mix with dried fruits and peanuts and/or some seeds (such as sunflower or pumpkin seeds)? Sunflower seed butter also works great as a dip for veggies or an ingredient in homemade granola bars (seeds and dried fruit, essentially.)

Are you looking for "eat in the car" snacks or "eat at your desk" snacks? You have a lot more options if you have a place to sit and eat, and even more if you can heat things up.

For protein "on the go", how about cans of fish or chicken with flip-top lids, maybe with a can of veggies too? Some kind of jerky or pemmican is also a good choice.

For "at home" snacks, I'd suggest leftovers from meals.

I really can't have peanut butter or seeds they just don't really sit well in my stomach. I am in and out of the office. I would be able to warm something up and then eat in the car. I am currently eating LARA bars (i know they have nuts, but it is what I have right now) so I guess I can do nuts and seeds in moderation but I can not depend on them as my only snack...
