Talk to Me About Craft Sales/Boutiques

Okay, so I have never done one of these but was invited to a fair size church "Christmas Boutique." It sounded fun, but now I am freaking out a little. I have no idea how much inventory one should have for a sale like this. The price points for my items are really quite low for hand sewn items, in hopes that it will all sell. At the same time, I don't want to have a table looking sparse a couple of hours into the thing.

How about taking orders? Is that something people are willing to do, or do they come to a sale wanting to take their item home with them?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm doing one of these in a couple of weeks. It helps that I will have two services to offer. I was planning on taking orders. Never done it before, though.

I am already planning for next summers Arts Fair (it is huge! which helps me be able to do whatever I want by way of price points). I think it is fine to be willing to take orders but yes, people want to buy stuff, on the spot. Don't be scared to price your stuff what you think it is worth. you can always mark it down. people love a sale anyways. definitely let the prices reflect the venue. is everyone elses stuff expensive or cheap? are other people selling the same thing as you? do you have fees associated with you being there? As for how much stuff to have, have as much as you cen get done before the day. You can't sell it if you don't have it.
