One brand of diapers won't lower their prices and I can't sell them

I struggled with a title for this... I have noticed in the past few months, people really are only buying if diapers are on sale somehow, even if it is only a dollar. Most of the wholesalers have recognized this and offered great promotions to lower the cost and boost sales. But one extremely well-known company will not lower the prices or offer any promotions on their two biggest products. I cannot sell them anymore b/c of this. They also have a very restrictive agreement that we cannot advertise any lower prices. I look around and I see other stores advertising much lower prices, but when I have tried this in the past, I got "in trouble." What would you do in this situation!

Are you just trying to get rid of the stock you have?

Do you have some sort of agreement with the expensive diaper company that you'll sell x a month for 12 months?

If you're just trying to get rid of your stock, can you offer a promotion? If you buy wipes/bag/etc when ordering these diapers you get $3 off the wipes/bag/ect? That way their getting a deal, but you're not lower in the price of snotty diapers.

If you have to sell x for a specific period that suggestion isn't going to help you much.

I don't have to sell any in a specific period... I just can't sell them at all now that people are so price-conscious. But your idea of giving the discount on something else is a good one - thanks! I'm also just venting... the way they do business really bothers me.

I hate feeling like I'm being "come at from all sides". Causes a lot of stress.

I've worked with a couple of companies before that have unrealistic price fixing. I dropped them because their stuff didn't sell for me.

My dad said, "Sell them at a discount and if they rescind your wholesale agreement, who cares, b/c you couldn't sell them anyway!" Which is not exactly the way I want to do it, but I may stop carrying them anyway. Thing is, they are the 500 lb gorilla, and I don't want not having them to hurt me.

No, I understood you. I am scared to drop them as a wholesaler b/c they are such a big brand.
