Which Chagrin Valley shampoo and soap bars?

You've all got me drooling over the Chagrin Valley web page! I'd like to try shampoo bars for the first time, but there are so many choices! What are your favorites and what type of hair do you have? Also if you have any favorite regular soaps from Chagrin Valley throw them out there! I think I'm going to order a bunch of samples. Thanks!

Love, love, love Chagrin Valley! I use Summer Sunshine shampoo bar. My hair is pretty normal but can get greasy in the crown by the 4th day. I only shampoo twice a week. I normally use Herbal Mist body soap but she just sent me a sample bar of Juniper Comfrey Mint with my last order (for free!) and I absolutely love it! When I go through the 3 bars I have I'm definitely ordering the Juniper Comfrey Mint.

I was a really big fan of one of the bars but I can't remember right now if it was lavender rosemary or lavender mint something. I started having an issue using the shampoo bars after awhile (tacky buildup on my hair that I couldn't get rid of except with normal shampoo), but they always worked great for my boyfriend. We tried probably 6 or 7 different flavors and they were all great for him.

I loved the Rhassoul Clay & Yogurt Complexion for face

For hair it was Lavender Spice with Babussa Marshmallow on other days. We lived in a dry climate and so I had to alternate with both to keep my head from itching.

Olive Babbasu works best for my hair and I like the Aloe Aloe Aloe and Cucumber Lime Yogurt soaps.

I had the same build up with some of the shampoo bars after successfully using them for a while. My list above are the ones that I can use with no build up, but really, it took me a while to figure out which ones worked for my hair. The bars vary for me, my DH and my children. And as much as I do love her bars, I'm now using someone local.

So far, I've tried the Rosemary Mint (cleaned fine, but it didn't lather easily enough for me), the Honey Beer and Egg (My favorite so far, made my hair really soft and shiny), the Babassu Marshmallow (Didn't like at all. Too drying for me, made my roots get greasier faster, and the length of my hair too pouffy), and the Carrot Milk and Honey (I also liked this one, it was about as good as the Honey Beer and Egg.) My hair must like honey. My hair is wavy and thick. Regular shampoo makes it too dry, tangled, or BIG. I wash my hair twice a week. I'm ordering more of the Honey Beer and Egg and a sample of the EXTRA HONEY Beer and Egg. My hairdresser asked what kind of conditioner I use (none), and said my hair was "so soft". When I told her what I use, she asked for the website to recommend it to some of her other clients.

I love the Chagrin Valley soap bars but haven't been brave enough to try any of the shampoo bars. Thanks for the recommendations, I'm going to order a few sample sizes and give them a try!

Do you all use Vinegar as a Rinse? I'm still using conditioner with the shampoo bars in both mine, and more importantly my girls' hair. Their heavy curls need it.

So far I'm a fan of Herb Garden and Nettle for my hair. I think I will stick with extra honey and beer for the girls and their curly que hair, though I might try a regular soap as her website says that those are superfatted and would be better for drier (or IMO, curly) hair. I like all the soaps I've used thus far, but will probably order the Castile and Calendula regularly since DH and DSS have eczema.

Ok, I ran out of my shampoo bar and tried the Aloe soap bar on my hair this morning and OMG, the results are amazing. Silky softness, body, manageability, shine. I think I have a new shampoo fave

Yes, I use an ACV rinse currently. I have fine, straight hair though.
