Moved to cloth... HORRIBLE rash...?!?

I have a 1yo adoptive daughter and we just moved from sposies to cloth (we didn't know some of her bloodwork stats prior and I didn't know if HepC or HIV could be sanitized out of my cd stash).

I cd'd my ds for years with no problem, but he was cloth from the beginning.

With her, I moved her over to my cloth stash (after a good washing/stripping just to be sure they were ready) and within the week--she's really raw. I'm not sure what happened or what to do about it, but I couldn't argue with dh about putting her back in sposies temporarily until we can figure it out.

I absolutely change her more often in the cloth. In fact, when she started getting raw, I changed her even if the outside of the cloth didn't feel wet--but opened it up and if there was ANY moisture inside, she was changed. No change.

I've tried our FuzziBunz AIOs (with the nice, soft fleece and a good soaker in the pocket).

I've tried our MotherEase OS (I initially thought I was snapping them too tight and they were rubbing her) and Sandy's with Air Flow covers.

It's not getting better.

What. on. Earth...??? Thoughts?

She's going bare-bottomed at the moment to try to heal her.

What laundry detergent are you using and what kind of wipes?

Could she have yeast or a secondary bacterial infection?

Did the rash start after a poo? Could it have been something she ate? DD2 gets a horrible rash when she eats blueberries or corn.

Don't those all have synthetic inners? She may be reacting to the polyester.

I'd try a natural fiber diaper, see if she has the same reaction. What kind of cover are you using? The PUL in the AIOs doesn't breath, and that may also be a contributing factor to heat build up.

The MotherEase & Sandy's are 100% cotton--no liners. The FuzziBunz are fleece and I use 100% cotton soakers in the pocket.

Same detergent I've always used with ds... I forget the name despite having used it for years. Cheap stuff. Always used with a dose of Calgon to be sure they rinse clean.

There are two different things going on "down there". One of them is a rawness that might actually be yeast-related. Just odd because ds only got yeast issues when we move FROM cloth to sposies (during a stint in a daycare that didn't allow cloth)

But she's Hispanic (I'm Cauc.) and I notice this other thing on other places of her body--it's like a darkening of her skin. It's almost like it gets REALLY dirty but it's not dirt, it's like dead skin. It accumulates really quick--mostly in the crevices of her knees (she's chubby ) and the line where the sole of her foot becomes the top of her foot. But now I see a line of that similar kind of marking near the leg opening of the cds... which is what made me wonder if they were too tight and rubbing her or something. I need to post in the multicultural forum about it overall I guess, but now I'm noticing it with the cds, too.

My first guess, if you're changing her often and the diapers have been stripped, would be yeast. You may want to check with the pediatrician to see if that's what it is.

The only other possibility I can think of is if it could be your detergent...some kids don't break out in other areas of the body, it's like a combo of detergent plus urine causes irritation in some kids...

For us, those horrible rashes were from food issues (soy!), but if it goes away with sposies, that's obviously not the problem.
