From my experience
Diaper bags were heavy and cumbersome to carry on one shoulder, backpacks you have to take off jest to get something out and thy are not working good with baby wearing

The pockets are jest the right size to hold the needful things - one diaper , to go size baby wipes sunscreen ... but most important I finally had conveniently reach my keys , wallet . cell phone...no matter how I chooses to carry my baby ...and run after my other two ...:-)
