Weaning sometime in the future - how to start cow's milk now?

My twins are 21 months old and I'm proud to say they've never had a drop of formula! Nursing is great, but for a bunch of reasons I can see us weaning in the next few months, or at least cutting back to nursing once or twice a day.

I'd like to get my girls drinking cows milk. I never even offered straight cow's milk until a couple weeks ago. Not an allergy thing, just why bother? But recently I've offered it twice. The girls had absolutely no interest. They would barely put it in their mouth.

Is cow's milk important? Did anyone here introduce it to their kids? Advice?

Thanks!

I don't think cows milk is important for the 2+ group. Before that if they are getting the proper nutrition and fast it isn't important. My started offering cows milk to my ds around 18 months when I was pregnant and not making as much milk, mainly for fat and vitamin d. He liked it and still does at 3.5, no biggie just started offering it the same as I did water.

My DD won't drink straight cow milk. If I mix it with breastmilk she'll drink a little.
