Two thumbs up for Dr. Cotter

I used to HS my kids, they're currently in a small charter school but a few of them may be HSing again next year. I'm also teaching preschool this year at the school they attend.

Our school recently had Dr. Joan Cotter out to work with the teachers (and kids) to give them new tools and ideas to help kids learn math. Dr. Cotter was amazing and soooo good. She taught classes all day long (with the teachers observing) and then came to our staff meeting after school to go over what she had taught and answer any additional questions. She had so many good things to say about the current state of education, she told us what she though should be done to improve our educational system, and taught us some neat math tricks to boot.

If you ever have a chance to see her speak in person, I'd highly recommend going. She was fabulous!
