Brought home my boys, now I'm starving - nursing foods & snacks?

So, my hubby and I had started to stock our freezer with easy to grab snacks and breakfasts and things. Then, 4 days later our routine growth ultrasound turned into an emergency c-section when we discovered one twin quite a bit undersized compared to the other.

Now I'm home 3 weeks later, and the wonderful meals that family brought are gone, as is the quick foods from the freezer. I feel like I've eaten everything in the house - some crazy case of munchies. I had no idea it would be like this.

I'd like to avoid just eating any kind of snack or junk food I can get my hands on (yesterday I ate 1/2 dozen oatmeal cookies that hubby had made), so I need some more ideas of things I can grab and eat in 15 minutes or less. Preferably not all cold things, either?

Fresh fruit & veggies are pretty obvious
hummus
cottage cheese
cheese
oatmeal & cereal (I like to snack on it dry sometimes)

Hubby and I will probably be venturing out for groceries soon, so what things should I put on my list? At this point I don't much care if it's prepackaged or whatever, I just need more ideas!

Congratulations, I remember our first few days home and just grabbing anything I could find to eat and I was only feeding one.

I used to make sandwiches in DDs first nap of the day (which was usually quite short) and pop them in the fridge then I could grab them through the day.

Hard boilied eggs
yogurts
I ate a lot of microwave baked potatoes with cheese and baked beans.
Soup is quick to heat up if you have time to make a big batch
pasta with pesto and cheese

I always had those cracker barrel slices in the fridge (im sure you can slice your own cheese...but it was easier!) as well as string cheese and I would eat that with a chunk of bread or some kinda crackers. I also would cut up mass amounts of veggies. I love the previous posters idea of hardboiled eggs as well as pasta salad.
You could also make a huge batch of "freezer burriotos", in our house that means a ww. tortilla with refried beans spread on then black beans, chicken, cheese and corn sprinkled over the top of the beans. Wrap up and either wrap in plastic wrap or a baggie and freeze. Pull it out when needed and microwave "seam side" down until heated through (not sure all micros are SO dif our is about 2min or so.)
grilled cheese
toast/english muffin/bagel
chips and dip
pudding
yogurt (if you buy the tube kind they freeze really well!)
You can make a large batch of muffins (or mini muffins) and freeze them.
I also loved having an amy's pizza or two in the freezer for those days when I had no will to cook.
buy an extra loaf of bread and freeze it (this saved me more then you know!)
I will try and think of more! Good luck and congrats!

Little pizzas (I do mine on pita bread) with sauce, cheese, and whatever else you want (chicken would be good and high protein, you'd need to cook and chop a few pieces ahead of time and refridgerate/freeze). Then you could just assemble and toast in the oven or toaster oven. Or even pre-assemble and freeze like that?

I like the burrito idea too, sounds tasty and versatile.

Congratulations on your twins!!

I second the freezer burritos.

The snacks I used to keep within reach of my "nursing stations" were granola bars and Primal Strips vegetarian jerkies (they have wheat gluten, shiitake mushroom, and soy ones in several flavors).

Lentil Rice is a versatile recipe that you can cook in huge batches and then reheat, and it doesn't mind if you have to turn it off half-cooked and start it up again later!

Duh...forgot to add I loved fruit strips and I also had a trail mix (all raw nuts/seeds plus dried fruit and dark choc. chips!.) Plus tons of water water water....I swear I would feel dry as a desert in the middle of nursing...it was awful.

I loved sprouted grain toast w/ raw cheese and butter. Yum. Sometimes with tomato and/ or cuc- fast and warm

I did granola and yogurt/fruit

smoothies

trail mix

fresh fruit (lots!) Apple with cheese, nut butter

coconut oil off the spoon (instant energy)

free range meat deli slices

whole grain chips with guacamole/salsa/cheese

larabars (can be bought in bulk at costco)

homemade healthy muffins/cookies (make double batch once a week and freeze)

glass of milk

I was so hungry and thirsty with #1, as well, and I didn't even have twins!

String cheese, cheese slices, all sorts of cheese. I like it with apples and wheat thins.

Mini pizzas on English muffins (my dh is an awful cook, but he does a great job with these, so we ate them a lot! LOL)

quesadillas

pimento cheese. Sometimes as sandwiches, sometimes as dip with celery

Celery/carrots/cauliflower/radishes and ranch or blue cheese. My babies only ever hated me eating broccoli, so other raw veggies were fine.

In addition to the other stuff, I'd do big batches of drumsticks (baked) and meatballs (or hamburgers). I craved meat after my kids were born, and if you're not veg, big batches may be a good way to have something on-hand for that 2am starving time.

And congrats on the babies!
