EDD: Mid August but may family runs late so proabably the third or fourth week
Name: Caitlin
Age: 27
Location: Shanghai, China but I'm originally from Iowa
Family (partner, other children, etc): I've been married for almost five years and have a daughter who will be two in February.
Gender preferences/inklings: I hope it's a girl so DD can do "sister" things
Names you like: Keeping this a secret
Birth Plans/Preferences:This is kind of complicated but I'll be home in the states for summer leave and I would really, really, really, like to have a birth at The Farm in Summertown, TN. I don't know much about it except what I know from "Spiritual Midwifery" and The Farms web page but I think it's my best chance of a VBAC/Natural birth and the only place I can think of where I will feel comfortable. My first birth was quite hard. I was in labor for 86 hours and was given a Cesarean at a local Chinese hospital with no/not enough pain meds - I could feel everything. I went into my first birth fearless and ready for a UC but now I am a little bit afraid and I feel like I need as much support and as comfortable/knowledgeable setting as I can get
Anything else you'd like to share: I'm a doula, CBE, CLEC, and I teach EC and Hypnobirthing. After my first birth I realized that birth/breastfeeding resources are severely lacking in China and I wanted to change that.

EDD: Somewhere between 5-12 August, though as I went to 43+1 weeks last time I'm expecting this one to arrive in late August or even early September!
Name: Lisa
Age: 30
Location: Liverpool, UK
Family (partner, other children, etc): DH - Andy (42) An EFL teacher trainer, DD - Ellie (nearly 2) a sweetie pie!
Gender preferences/inklings: I wanted a boy last time and DH wanted a girl. This time I don't really mind, though a girl would be handier as we already have all the clothes!
Names you like: Haven't really thought about it yet.
Birth Plans/Preferences: Homebirth hopefully. Had a very traumatic hospital transfer last time and absolutely don't want to go through that again.
Anything else you'd like to share: I'm really excited to be able to join a DDC! I joined MDC after DD was born so never got to be part of a DDC last time round - Oh and I'm a total dork, as you can tell!

Oooh, The Farm is not far from where I live. It's kind of a fantasy of mine to birth there, too, but I had a great hospital birth last time with a CNM who was born and raised there, so next best thing!

I hope you get your perfect birth experience this time !!

Wow, Beth. I have a similar story... this babe was conceived 3 years to the day of my last and about a month or so before I conceived (this was a time of great stress and craziness in my life), I was driving to my grandparent's really upset and on the way there this was this beautiful clear rainbow. I knew then that the events going on in my life were temporary. We would find a solution and all would be ok. It was just getting to that point.

That is Amazing. Rainbows are always a sign of encouragment and peace for me. The only time I have seen a double rainbow before this babes conception day was the day we bought our farm on our farm.

I promised myself after my last summer baby that I would never have a summer babe again. I think next one I will have to say the opposite. Summer babies are lovely in that they can be warm and naked but I would prefer to birth in winter, the farming quiet season. I also think three years exactly must be a perfect spacing for our little ones.

EDD: August 1st, but I was also 3 weeks late with my last 2 so, hopefully in August!
Name: Amy
Age:41
Location: Mountains of Nevada
Family (partner, other children, etc): Dan and 5 other children, nursing my 16 month old and plan to nurse through pregnancy and tandem nurse
Gender preferences/inklings: Probably a girl
Names you like: Alexa Nickname while in my tummy: Baby Sugar (we have always had a nickname for each)
Birth Plans/Preferences: Homebirth
Anything else you'd like to share: Funny dreams... Dream 1: I had a dream 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant that I was giving birth to twins. My youngest daughter was there with me as I was squatting down giving birth. She kept saying "play, play" and pulling on the baby. I told her she needed to wait to play with the baby. So she sat down, I finished birthing the baby girl and she held her. I stood back up, squatted and birthed another baby- a boy. Just my daughter and I were in the dream at the birth! So maybe twins?
Dream 2: I had a dream about 4 days before I found out I was pregnant that I was electrocuted by my electric oven. I was shocked to the floor and helped up by a dear friend who helped me get well and I avoided the hospital. I looked up in a dream book about it's meaning and it mentioned that I should expect "shocking" news.

Thanksgiving I had gone 19 days past ovulation, with high temps and my DH went to get a test. It was positive! We hadn't DTD since day 8 and I ovulated on day 14. Needless to say, I was SHOCKED that I was pregnant!! Not upset at all, just really surprised. The swimmers hotel was warm and cozy those 5 days, I suppose!! We are all so excited. My DH dreamed about this baby in July. It was a very quiet, peaceful girl. We planned to TTC in the end of June '10, but this baby had other plans!!
