Question about block feeding

Thread Starter
On Sunday I started block feeding to fix a hindmilk/foremilk imbalance. It seems to be working itself out, which is great. My question is: once it is fixed, do I go back to feeding on both breasts, or do I just keep block feeding indefinitely?

Thank you!

Once you feel that you supply is normaling out then you can try to go back to nursing normally, BUT if you notice that things are starting to go wrong again then go back to the block nursing asap, block nursing and the results are different for every mother, so you have to be more aware of your body and your supply, if you think things are evening out then sure go back to nursing normally and see how things go. Good luck

Yep, I'd keep up with the blocks until the problem seems pretty resolved, and then go back to nursing each side. But like pp said, go right back to blocks if you notice things shifting in the other direction. I had so much milk w/DS2 I was nursing on about 12 hour blocks for about 3 months. And even once my supply settled down a little, I had one over producer and one slacker boob, so even at 18 months I was nursing R-R-L to keep my boobs at about the same size (purely vanity on my part)
