Keep your socks on!!!

Does anyone have any tried and true methods for keeping a baby's socks on their feet???? My LO will NOT keep them on for anything. He sleeps in footy pajamas, but during the day, it's a constant on and off game.

Is he pullimg them off or are they falling off? DD has some Old Navy striped ones that stay on the best. However, she pulls her socks off if she can get to them. I bought some shoes specifically to keep the socks on, but that's not working either. She sits there and tries to chew the shoes off.

same thing here!! my DD pulls her socks off.. it's that on-off-on-off game all day long.. and i've just let her go barefeet and turned up the heat a little bit.

DD hates anything on her feet. So, I gave up I just cover them with her babylegs leg warmers, a blanket, or my hands if we're outside. If we're indoors, I often just let it go, unless her feet feel cold. Babylegs are awesome, btw! She can't pull them off, and they're really cute! I don't like baby socks, either. So, it was pretty easy to give them up

I have to put "shoes" on to keep the socks on...we have some cute Robeez. Otherwise, she just pulls the socks right off!

We do the Scandinavian thing of dressing our baby in tights under his clothes. They act as long underwear too.

I've found that it takes the right style of socks for them to stay on my kids' feet. With the older two, the wide cuff ankle socks from Old Navy worked great. For the current babe, I found some at Babies R Us that stay put pretty well. Mostly tho, I stick to footie jammies for babies - way easier than trying to keep track of socks when we are out and about.

I have found that the oldnavy striped socks and some of the white one stay on fairly well. However, once my DD learned to pull them off I had to get some shoes for her. I found some very inexpensive velcro shoes at babies R us--they were clearanced. These worked great until she figured out how to pull the velcro tabs. Now I have her in real shoes that tie and I have to double not them she she does not untie them. This works out okay as she is beginning to show interest in walking and I found the shoes used at a second hand store--did not have to spend a fortune on shoes!!!

I found either the robeez shoes over the socks or really long socks work best.

Soft soled shoes are the only way to keep socks on DS right now, he hasn't been able to figure out how to yank off the shoes yet.

I have one pair that was a hand me down that are tight along the upper part and she cant get them off. Otherwise they're always off! It makes her smile when she does it bc she knows I think it's silly. My dad said my parents kept me in knee socks to keep them on. Haven't tried that though...and not sure where one would find knee socks for a baby.

the longer the better! I love Children's Place socks (the long ones...I think they might be girls lol)...you could try little girl "tights" too....I think I have done that once or twice. I also would put on shoes over the socks and that helped...but then, sometimes I just let it go lol

I love these:

They are stuck like glue! And they leave no red marks on the baby's legs at the top.

tucking the sock under babylegs or using robeez type shoes is what we do here.

Awesome advice! I am totally digging the tights idea. DH might not go for it, since I would be buying girl clothes for our DS, but it's not like anyone would notice unless they changed his diaper!! (it would just look like socks under his pants!!) My problem is him taking the socks off, not having them just fall off on their own (btdt, figured out which socks do and don't work for that!) I'm not a huge fan of putting shoes on my babes until they really, really need them...plus, I can only imagine he would really despise those, since he dislikes his socks so much. I think I'll be heading out to buy some tights for my little boy tomorrow! hahaha, shhhhhh, don't tell DH. Maybe he'll never notice

well enjoy one more winter with tights or something on his feet.
i did tights with my dd the first year. after that it was a losing battle. she hated socks and shoes.

today she is 7 years old adn she still doesnt wear shoes or socks at home. even clothes actually for that matter.

I think that unless you live where it's cold and don't use heat, socks off are fine. Just use a lot of blankets. I second the Old Navy triple roll socks, but I think that barefoot is fine at home.

We do either socks tucked under her babylegs, or robeez brand socks. They have a gentle elastic band around the ankle, as well as the top where the sock ends and no matter how hard she pulls, she CAN NOT get them off! LOVE them!

ughh my little one yanks socks off every single day. Inside I left her be barefeet. outside I use socks, babylegs and sometimes moccasins over the socks... She still manages to pull it off but thats what I do.
