Hi!

My last baby is 2 but I still have a ton of baby weight I need to lose! I would like to start a support thread with weekly weigh-ins (for those who want to) got people doing any sort of diet, workout, or program.

Anyone want to join me?
I will! I do my weigh ins of Tuesdays so I'll post then.

Great! Tuesdays sounds good. I did my weigh-in on Wednesday this week. Thanks for joining.

I'll totally join. Our last just turned 2 last weekend, so I know your pain at still carrying it around. I've been trying, but my last 15 lbs just won't go away. I can weigh in any day, I just need to bring my scale home.

Subbing. I need some accountability here. I'm on a broth/soft food diet for a week (had mouth surgery) so hopefully I can lose at least a little weight.

Welcome! So glad to have a few other people to help keep me on track with this. I SO SO SO need to take this weight off now. I have been really good so far this week, so I am hopeful to begin the process.

(An yuck to mouth surgery! Sorry mama).

I'll totally weigh in too. My day is tuesday as well. Oh, and ds is 27mos, so I feel your pain! I also only had 1.5 mos between pregnancies, so I'm carrying a LOT of weight for a long time. It's time it got its eviction notice.

It's Monday evening, I think that means most of us will be weighing-in in the morning. You can post whatever you want in whatever form you want. For me, I am going to spell it out.

Starting weight: 250
Last week's weight: 250
This week: xxx
Total lost: x

I think this will work for me, to see both where I started, where I am and what that means about the changes. The holidays are going to be challenging, so my goal is going to be to at least maintain any amount I lose and hopefully to continue dropping some weight.

Tuesday Morning.

Starting weight: 250
Last week's weight: 250
This week: 245
Total lost: 5

Obviously I am thrilled with the 5 pound lose. It certianly will help keep me focused. That said, I have so much weight to drop, that it only makes sense to see bigger numbers! I was 195 when I got pregnant with my son and that was a little higher than I like. For several years I was 172, which was fabulous and I think of as my ideal weight. That's still a long ways away, but this is progress for sure.

I am such a dork!!! If we get enough people to do this we should assign teams like the biggest loser. Oh, that sounds like so much fun. I just started yesterday so I haven't lost anything, yet. But, as I told my DH prepare to be dazzled.

Starting weight: 180
Today's weight: 180
Pounds lost: 0

Tuesday Morning check in #1

Starting weight: 199.5 (pre-period)
Last week's weight: 199.5
This week: 199.0 (still on my period)
Total lost: 0.5

So, a half pound loss. Which should be more, technically speaking, since I'm still retaining water since I'm still on my period. Tomorrow is the last day, so I *should* see a big water loss soon after. Of course, then it's thanksgiving. With 2 dinners I need to attend. And dh just informed me that his uncles are making the meats sweet--aka honey ham. Think I should eat a big meal beforehand and just 'nibble'? Then again, they got annoyed last year when I didn't eat any pie (store bought), since I still needed to go to another dinner. Argh.

I've been eating a bit higher carbs these last couple days, thanks to chocolate cravings (mind you, it's like 10-20 more carbs), but it hasn't affected the weight loss. Still under 50 for ketosis, so all good there.

Claybear, I started ds2's pregnancy near you--190. Of course, I started ds1's pregnancy at 167. I was really hoping I'd be one of those lucky women under pre-pregnancy weight 1 month after giving birth. And if not that, then breastfeeding would whisk it all off.

Welcome Angela! Thanks for joining us. We are all prepared to be dazzled

JTA Mom, good work! I think you should bring things to the meals that you can eat a lot of. Salads, veggies, nice cheese, what ever and then fill your plate with lots of those things and anything else you can eat within your restrictions. Eat heartily and then be too full for too much of the other stuff. Or, have your DH eat yours for you, I always do that!

Okay, I'm in.

Brief intro: A few years ago I had gotten up to 203 then lost a bunch of weight (into the low 160's I think) but then moved from Manhattan to the Bronx and adopted a much more car based lifestyle and gained about 20 back. Then started to get in better shape but got pregnant, then miscarried and gained 10 pounds in a month and got pregnant right away again. So I started pregnancy at 181, gained about 35, lost some with birth but then started gaining again so that by the time my son was about 8 months old (in August), I weighed 203 again.

So for the past 3 months I've cleaned up my eating and started working out and feel much, much better. I've lost 30 pounds, which is about 1/2 way to my goal weight. So after that long intro, here's my stats for first weigh in:

Starting weight: 203 (from when I first started)
Last week's weight: 174 (or thereabouts; not sure what it was Tues)
This week's weight: 172
Total lost: 31 (since first starting - should I change this for this board to just start with this thread?)

Welcome Bronxmom! You can (and should!) totally write about all the weight you have lost. It's inspiring for sure. Is that 31 pounds in three months, because that is awesome!

Thanks! Yeah - it's since mid-August. It can be really frustrating when you've made a lot of progress but then realize how far you still have to go. The first month or two were amazing because you get a rush from actually losing, but then you have to be persistent.

Basically, I had really bad habits to start so doing anything was a huge difference. I wasn't active at all and was eating a lot of junk. I cut out candybars completely and cut down on alcohol a lot (though I still drink). I also started working out, which I think is the most critical factor for me. It makes me feel healthy and allows me not to cut calories back too much. Between breastfeeding and exercise I can continue to eat 1,800-2,000 cals a day and still lose, which is a huge deal to me as I LOVE food. My workout "routine" is basically: New Rules of Lifting for Women 2-3x/week (which I love), high intensity interval training as often as I can (not as much as I'd like) and a lot of long walks with my son in the backpack. The long walks are pretty low intensity but I do them for a good period of time and they are key to me still getting a workout in on days I have the kids all day and can't get to the gym. I still eat pretty much regular food, esp plenty of healthy fats and protein, but do focus on whole foods and whole grains. I also really became conscious of upping my general activity level in life as a whole. I clean more willngly; I'll run an errand to the store rather than waiting to do it while driving; I dance with my baby and chase him around more; I walk places; etc, etc.

The difference in lifestyle has been pretty dramatic. Unforunately, I'm still almost 40 pounds overweight so clothes shopping still largely sucks and it feels a way off. Glad to have this thread to keep accountable.

Also, people should def join the 1,000 min challenge; it's definitely a fun way to keep pace of your activity level.

Made it through Thanksgiving without a weight gain and feeling good. Thankful for that!!!
Happy Tuesday! I hope that everybody had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was good. Gearing up for Christmas. The tree is up and I just love it!!! Today is weigh in. Here's my numbers:

Start weight: 180
Last week weight: 180
This week weight: 170
Total lost: 10 pounds

Tuesday Check-In #2
Starting weight: 203 (from when I first started)
Last week's weight: 172
This week's weight: 170.5
Total lost: 32.5 (since first starting)

Was hoping for a bigger loss because I had a real plan for the Thanksgiving weekend and because the scale went down to 170 last Wed, but that must have been an abberation. (Actually, I think it's because I was doing better with water and retaining less water - I've been really bad with water the last 5 days) I weigh every day but like the weekly check-in because it gives me the trend over time. When you think about it, 1.5 pounds is pretty good for a week with Thanksgiving in it And now I'm back in town and on track. Will. drink. water.

Can I join in? I like the idea someone had of teams! Sometimes I need some competition. Right now I'm doing the "roughly" diet. Roughly low carbs (because if my DH makes dinner, I'm not going to fret over it, just eat low carb the rest of the day), and roughly watching what I eat. I used to log, but I find I get a little over crazy when I do that. WOrkouts are when I can get to them. Maybe sometimes in the early am.

Start weight: 223.8
Last week weight: Somewhere in that vicinity
This week weight: 223.8
Total lost: none yet
Weekly weigh in #2:

Starting weight: 199.5
Last week's weight: 199.0
This week: 198.0
Total lost: 1.5

Argh! This is feeling really, really slow! And I'm still on Induction. What in the world am I doing wrong? Or is it just my lot to lose weight sloooooowwwwwwlllllyyyy.
