Weekly Support & Check-in - Page 3

Week 6, day 7
Starting weight: 199.5
Last week's weight: 196.5
This week: 197.5
Lost this week: nothing, up a lb
Total lost: 2.0

Another up week. Baaaad cheat week too! Must hide the chocolates AND GMIL's wedding cookies.

So, in total, I've lost 2 lbs this holiday season. At least I didn't GAIN. Seeing it that way makes me feel a lot better than seeing that in 7 weeks, I've lost 2lbs.

I'm in. I've been way too mellow about losing weight and I should be doing better. I also think I need to cut out coffee (sob!) and watch salt intake more closely. <sigh> Why is this so hard?!?!
i refuse to weigh myself this week. It has to be water weight. I refuse to believe any of the weight I gained is from cookies, milkshakes, fudge or cheese. I'm living in denial for another week.

Hi everyone! Oh - please count me in!
I soooo need to get fit and lose some weight - I've been feeling badly both physically and mentally. I'm tired all the time, grouchy and just haven't been a fabulous role model for my little ones over the past year. It's time to shape up!
Here's my plan.... I'm hoping to squeeze in a workout DVD in several times a week along with some time on our Wii Fit. I also want to start walking during my lunch at work. My diet plans are a green smoothie for breakfast, a raw lunch of some sort and then a sensible dinner (earlier in the evening than 8 - which is about when we tend to eat now...). I need to add lots of water and I want to cut out my coffee (I agree GreenMom4 - SOB!).

Starting weight: 176
Goal weight: 140

I'm so excited to get started and check in with everyone each week!
Yay!

Welcome to all the new folks! Really happy to have you here!
I would love to join you lovely ladies! My baby is 3 months old and I gained more weight during her pregnancy than I did w/ the other two. I love chocolate too much and my only workouts are walks w/ the kids, which is hard when it's only 25 degrees out. I need some motivation :-) Breastfeeding is not magically melting the pounds yet, LOL!

currently: 150
goal: 120 (i'm only 5'2")

Hey mamas!

I'm happy for everyone who is making progress towards their goals!

I want to join you. I am going on a big family beach vacation in June, and I would like to feel comfortable in my own skin by then. Cliche, I know, but there it is.

My highest ever weight was in spring of 2005 at 275 or 280. Two pregnancies/bf later, I am at 235.

I am running and limiting carbs. I am a newly-minted fan of Mark's Daily Apple and am considering cutting grains entirely, but for now I am just sharply limiting them.

DH is doing this too, though he is drinking a bit of alcohol and not limiting his carbs as much as I am.

My starting weigh-in was last Tuesday, coincidentally enough.

Dec. 29: 235
Goal: 215

Thanks for this thread!

Hey mamas, just popping in to say keep doing as awesome as you have been!

As for me, I am at my highest weight ever, but I haven't weighed in 3 days so I'm not sure where I stand right now. I was going to start the gym this week but woke up with a nasty sore throat. I think I'll be able to go tomorrow though, and I'm trying to be careful with my food intake today. I'm determined to lose 2 lbs a week for the next year. Or I will die trying. Dangit.

Flipped off the wagon and got run over. I went to the MD and found out my scale at home is a POS. So, I bought a new one. I am back on the horse but know I have gained because the holidays were soooo stressful. So, I need to come back. I guess I will start over from my last known acculturate weight from the MD. The scale I have know is very accurate. See you ladies in the morning.

Welcome!!! A better goal than having a set amount of weight you *must* lose every week is to focus on eating/drinking/exercising the way you want to eat/drink/exercise for the rest of your life. I find that my own weight loss can be slow, but I'm still going forward. I mean from Thanksgiving to last Tuesday I had lost a total of 2pds. That's it. And my last weigh in I was 1.5lb above my lowest weigh in. And I was really, really feeling low, until I looked at it long term--I was still lower than I was when I began!

Lol, I love your analogy. I think we might have been on the same wagon. I'm pretty sure it backed up and ran over me a couple times too.

What was wrong with your home scale? Different scales weigh differently. I have one 'newer' scale that weighed me heavier, but it died before this challenge. It miraculously revived itself. And started weighing me lighter. Now it's heavier again. I'm sticking to my old, dependable scale.

If it helps any, if you know how 'off' your original scale was (compared to doctor's), just revise your starting weight up/down the same amount. That way you are still taking into account that you actually *have* lost weight, kwim?

The kids used it as a trampoline. They liked to watch the needle jump up and down. They also messed with the tension dial that I couldn't keep the weight consistent. So, I bought a nice digital with a walmart giftcard I got for Christmas and hid it.

I'm up almost three pounds from a month ago. <sigh> One step forward, two steps back...

This week's weigh-in:

Last week (Dec. 29): 235

This week (Jan. 5): 232

Goal: 215 by June 1

While I would like to celebrate my three pounds, I think AF had something to do with it. But I have been very good about watching my carbs and exercising, so who knows?

Check-In #7
Starting weight: 203 (from when I first started); 174 from start of challenge on 11/17
Last week's weight: 168
This week's weight: 167.5
This week's loss/gain: -.5
Total lost: 35.5 since beginning; 6.5 since challenge

Okay, so not anything to write home about but at least it's a loss and considering the month I guess it's not so bad. BUT I do need to kick it up a notch and get back to at least 1.5lbs/week if I can. Luckily, I've been taking it easy (lots of drinking and eating last month, not as much exercise) so I think there's a lot of room for improvement if I focus.

Congrats to everyone who kept it together through the holidays! I think just checking in and keeping conscious and accountable is a huge step forward regardless of our loss/gain.

Well, I'm joining you ladies, whether you like it or not. BTW, I'm very competitive, so watch out!!!

I'm 5'8", and as of last week, I weighed in at 205. I have put on about 20 lbs in the past few months. Really? WTF?! I was about 185 at the end of the summer. Not cool, man.

My ultimate goal is to get down to 145. That will be the huge celebration weight!

So, here's my goals:

By Valentines Day (February 14): 195
By Easter (April 4): 185
By Mother's Day (May 9): 175
By 4th of July: 163
By Labor Day (September 6th): 150
By Halloween (October 31st): 145
Then maintain it through the winter holiday season.

For each goal I meet, I will treat myself to a new pretty thing (hair cut, clothes, makeup, etc.). Whatever I fancy at the time.

I'm going to lose weight through simple healthy eating habits, and exercise. I'm not going to set a "routine", though. I'll be coming up with different ideas to get active.

I used to weigh a lot more, and through simple diet and exercise, I had lost 65-70 lbs in about 8 months. So, I know it's "do-able" for me. I just need to get in the right mindset to do this!

Welcome everyone!

I got my period yesterday and forgot to check-in but I weighed in this morning in the same spot as last week. The up side is I managed to maintain a 5lb loss over the course of the holidays but now it is time to get serious.

I like your goals, AtYourCervices! That sounds great to me.

I worked out this monring -- that is really what I need to start doing more of. I need to work out 5 days a week and then I think the food becomes much easier to work with.

So, I am still 245.
