Thanks for the share. I will watch this too, maybe if I can get through it. Half way through this preview, I got such a sick feeling in my stomach from these parents and educators over dramatizations on the choices THEY made on how to educate and raise their children. I guess I wish it was less melodramatic and sappy. They seem like they are attempting to victimize themselves and teach their children how to be a victim of the choices they make. Sorry if I'm coming off really harsh!
These poor kids have such a terrible outlook on life from their experiences and the attitudes of the role models in their everyday life -- it is too bad that nobody has provided them with examples on how life can be fun and challenging with the right balance in their lives.

OMG, I just watched the trailer and it was like looking at a montage of my high school years. Not exaggerating, I could have been a poster child for that documentary.
Sarah, in my case it was completely self-motivated. Well, I was motivated to get some kind of attention from my distracted parents, so I guess you could say that my parents WERE part of the problem, but mostly it was my choice to work myself half to death only to become of SAHM. (Not that being a SAHM is an inferior choice, but did I really need to take AP History, a subject I loathed, when I could have taken a cooking or sewing class, which is much more suited to my interests? Just one example of many.) All indications I was getting from adults in my life (parents, family, teachers) was that I was doing a good thing. Nobody told me to slow down, to re-evaluate my priorities or goals. Needless to say, by college I was burnt out. I completed my undergraduate degree but did not go on to medical school as planned, mostly because I figured I'd spent enough time stressed out, unhappy in school and that I wanted to enjoy life. To heck with a career!
