bfing at one year

This is my third baby, you would think I knew what I was doing ...

DD3 is currently 99% ebf. I believe in BLW. Seriously considering a trip without her for a few days, shortly after her first birthday. She's never had a bottle. She'd probably drink pumped milk, though. She's good like that.

But my thing is that I do ***not*** want her to stop bfing. I love nursing. I fully intend to nurse her for 3 years, like her big sisters.

If it matters, I'm 43 years old. Big sisters are almost 10 and almost 6, so it's been a few years. I haven't ever had supply issues, but I'm not a HUGE producer. I figure I'll come up with a pump asap and start making a supply.

But do y'all think she'd "stop" nursing? Or will she come back to mama ?

To be honest and fair to you, YOU are the only person that can answer that question, however, in asking us at MDC suggests that you are concerned, you are the one who knows your baby the best - not us at the other end of the internet - sorry not to be so much help!

I can understand the need and want to have just a few days away, maybe try to work out a solution to bring baby with you, every child is different and will react differently maybe try a day away before hand to see what her reaction is and work it out from there. Good luck - sorry not to have been too much help!!

I left my not quite 2 year old for 3 days and he did not stop nursing. I figure at a year older, he would be more likely to stop than a 1 year old. There is no way my guy would have forgotten about nursies after only a couple days, but I suppose every baby is different. I think it sounds like a nice break!
