i've heard it a million times and for the life of me I cannot come up with it...its something about I'd rather have an unhealthy child than risk infecting a healthy one?

help, im writing an anti-vax paper using emotional appeal and no research...i feel like this will help!

Are you talking about how some vaxers seem to be fearful of unvaxed children because they are afraid their vaxed child will contract a disease from an unvaxed one? Its a silly argument because if the vaccines worked (and why else would you get them unless you thought they worked), the vaxed child should be protected and their parents shouldn't have to worry.

Seems to work for the vax side =D I don't know the saying you are referring to OP, but best of luck with your paper!

Do you mean "I'd rather treat a sick child than harm a healthy one"?

Ah, yes. That is a common statement. I think the concept is actually called omission bias. HTH!

Why exactly are you writing this? As a tongue-in-cheek article, to prove a point about much of the pro-vax literature out there? Or because you're actually hoping to prove something with your paper? (IMO, something level-headed and full of research, but written simply enough to be easy to comprehend, would work a lot better for that purpose.)

Omission bias would only be applicable if not vaccinating was actually equally harmful, but nope, not vaccinating is not harmful at all, so that concept does not apply.

"I'd rather treat a temporarily ill child who is overall healthy rather than damage or kill a healthy child with vaccines"
