Bra size??

I dont have any stores around here that size you for the right bra size. So I been trying to calculate it on my own. Every online calculater I have tried says I am 38AA. Right now I am wearing a 38D and Im thinking I probably need DD. So why does it keep telling me I need AA? I dont understand how its possible, I havent wore a A since i was 12!
Right now I have a D cup but the nipple is a bit squished up when I wear it, is that the right size or does it need to have plenty of room in the front??

that doesn't sound right. i was a 34 b, went to 44 f and am now about a 40 d. i like to have loose bras because i've heard that tight bras will cause clogged ducts and restrict letdown.

I agree, it doesn't sound right at all. Have you tried Break Out Bras for sizing help? They have excellent fitting advice, and you can call and talk with them if you have any questions. They are super.

some calculators still add 5 to the rib cage measurement which will give you a smaller cup size. I used the bali brasize calculator and it told me I was a 40A - I was a 36E according to a professional bra fitting.

I found the measuring instructions on the bravado website to be helpful and got the right size using them.

BRA MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS

Try measuring in front of a mirror or with help from your s/o. Measure once with your bra on and once without and use the average. Most women that go to get fitted are wearing an ill-fitting bra which compresses their bust and increases their high bust. So these skewed measurements are used to find a new bra which still does not fit.

Areas to measure...

Full Bust - measure around the fullest part of your bust over the bust points (nipples) without pulling the tape too tight.

High Bust - measure above your breasts at the underarm level.

Ribcage - measure directly under the breasts and pull the tape snug.


Determining your size...

Band Size: subtract two inches from your high bust, or take your ribcage and add two. Round to the nearest even size like 38 or 40.

Cup Size: subtract your band size from your full bust. Every inch equals one cup; 0 = AA, 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, 4 = D, 5 = DD/E, 6 = DDD/F, 7 = G, 8 = H, 9 = I, 10 = J, 11 = K, L = 12, M = 13, N = 14, O = 15, etc.

P.S. Don't trust those online bra calculators, they usually don't work properly.

Alos, do not forget that every bra company sizes differently. Contact an experienced nursing bra fitter for help. They should know their products and which would fit you best. Be ready with these three measurements:

ribcage above breasts

ribcage below breasts

fullest part of breast

I don't know anything about bra size calculators, but I do know that the nursing bras I've gotten (for each of my kids) seemed to be sized a little bigger in the cups for obvious growth during breastfeeding. I wear a 38C normally, and that's what size my nursing bras all are. They also keep my nipples a little bit squished up (I shouldn't say squished because they aren't tight at all, just push the nipple a little upwards), and I prefer it that way. Then I don't leak out the sides when I do leak. And I've never had a single breast infection yet!
