Regular blog carnival?

Even though we only had a few people for our MDC blog carnival (see this thread), I really enjoyed the interaction and discovering new sites that are now regular reads.

I've been toying with the idea of hosting a regular blog carnival specific to parenting. I have a toddler, and so I initially thought about doing one that would be anything and everything about toddlers - but it could be broader than that.

Would anyone be interested in joining me?

Toddler-specific or parenting in general? I tend to blog about parenting in general, but specifically about being "green" with young kids, hot topic issues for parents (i.e., intactivism, lactivism, etc.), toddler activities, etc.

If so, would you rather do it weekly (to be consistent and possibly get more participants) or monthly (to avoid burnout)? I can see advantages and disadvantages to both.

I'm in! I vote for monthly because I've got several other writing projects. I do update my blog several times a week, so if it's weekly, I could do it.

I like a broad parenting topic - not everyone has toddlers. Though, I do. My blog is about cleaning up the clutter in my house and he comes up in a lot of my posts. He makes a lot of messes - lol!

I would love to participate. I have an infant though and no toddlers so I vote for a broader parenting focus. Monthly would work best for me right now because updating weekly has gotten difficult.

I'm definitely interested and I agree that general parenting and once/month would be best for me.

I'm willing to start with three other people

So what about the second Tuesday of the month?

That would mean the first day would be Tuesday, December 8 - so you have a little over two weeks to come up with something.

Sound good?

I would be interested. My youngest is 6 so something more general would be better for me.

Oooh, yeah, this sounds good. I'm in!

Oh, I'm in! I have a toddler, but also have an 18 year old son so I can write about the whole spectrum of parenting.

Do we just link again like the last blog carnival?

Yay! I was hoping you would

I think I'm going to do a Mr. Linky type thing - so you would put your site up on my page, then post at least my site on yours (and as many of the others as you wanted).

Anyone still up for this on Tuesday?

Yes! Just give me the topic...or however this tends to work. It's my first carnival, can you tell?

The topic is parenting - beyond that it is wide open! Write on anything related to parenting that you would like. Heck, you don't even have to write if you don't feel inspired - just post a picture that relates to parenting!

Once your post is ready on Tuesday, come to my site (click on my username then "visit my homepage") and you'll see a little box where you can copy and paste the URL of your own post. Then please add a link to my site in your post so that your readers can click over and see links for the other participants. Make sense?

I'm excited! I really want to connect more with other bloggers!

I'm in! I have a parenting post scheduled to launch at 8am tomorrow.

When we're out of bed I'll pop on over and complete the link thing.

Awesome. I have mine scheduled to post at 3am, just in case there are any really early birds who want the widget ready

Kari - will you let me know if it's clear enough what people are supposed to do? I put the widget underneath my post's text (I'd still like people to read what I wrote - ha!), so I don't want it to get lost.

Sorry I'm late in getting back to you. I obviously made a mistake originally with the Mr. Linky, but the second time I figured out that name was the blog name. It's pretty easy to understand.
