MW in IL?

Thread Starter
I was curious as to if anyone knows any midwives that will attend a homebirth in the central IL area. (I know IL is still behind as far as homebirthing goes. UGH!)

I've seen a few posts about midwives that will attend homebirths in the Chicago and surrounding areas, but never central IL.

This is my third and last child and I would love to have a homebirth.

If anyone could give me any information at all, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Is this going to be an HBAC or "normal" home birth? I ask b/c CNMs are allowed to do home births if it's a normal, low-risk pregnancy & birth. Have you checked out illinoismidwives.net? Also, when I was starting my search I e-mailed every CNM and doula I could and asked for recommendations for my area (many of them were in the suburbs, but knew people closer to me--I'm in far western IL). Also, many CNMs will travel, but it will of course cost more. I am using a lay midwife from near Princeton, IL, which is about 90 min from me. If you want her name let me know! (FYI--if you want insurance to pay for it, go with a CNM--most wont pay otherwise).
