Doc said no dairy and no soy

Now what? I admit it, I love dairy. Mostly cream (for tea) and cheese.

Can't do almond milk (allergic to tree nuts).
Rice milk just doesn't cut it for my tea.
Anything else out there that I can use as a creamer (not soy)?

What vegan cheese do you prefer?

Help this dairy lover out, please.

can you do coconut milk? so delicous makes very yummy coconut products, including a coconut milk creamer that is to die for.

almost all vegan cheeses are soy based. a friend of a friend came across this recently http://www.daiyafoods.com/ which i have heard now from several people is really good. it's almost "everything free"... no soy, dairy, nuts, etc. it's pretty much only available for ordering on the internet right now.

I was going to suggest the daiya cheese as well- df and sf and reasonably unprocessed for such a thing as fake cheese and coco milk products are super yummy!

I've been off of dairy/soy/eggs for quite a while - I haven't found a good sub for cheese yet (but thanks for the daiya link!) but I can give you good tips on what to sub in recipes that have cheese - you don't notice it in tacos and stuff after a while.

As far as milk goes, coconut milk is AMAZING for making stuff taste creamy. Seriously! I don't know how I lasted so long with out it. Get the stuff in cans though, not the stuff in the jug. Chaokao (I think) is a great brand. I have gotten a lot of great top 8 allergen free recipes from here:
ourgaggleofgirls.com/recipes
and her white sauce is SO good! My hubby (who is notoriously picky and hates coconut) thought I had made the sauce with dairy and was wondering why I was eating it.

Also, are you off of all soy or can you do soybean oil and lecithin? If you are allergic to soy, you can probably tolerate the oil and lecithin as it's the soy proteins you would be allergic to and they are processed out. If you are intolerant, however, you will need to stay away from it as well. If you are okay with it though, you can use Nekoa (I think?) brand margarine - it is good in recipes as a butter substitute.

I'm seeing the allergist on Monday so I'll ask about coconut milk. I think coconut is fine, though.

Daiya cheese (which lives up to the internet hype like you would not believe), luna and larry's coconut milk ice cream, coconut milk as a creamer, and Earth Balance just came out with a soy-free margarine.

These are the two suggestions I was going to make! The coconut creamer is excellent, and Daiya is ohmigod the BEST vegan cheese I've ever had, ever.
