This Dyson vacuum attachment that I've never used...

Anyone have a Dyson, and do you use this funky tool?

I've had this Dyson for 7 years now, found this tool at the back of the closet and gave it a whirl. It seems really difficult to use! I wonder if I'm doing something wrong because it seems like I can only go one direction: backwards. I place it on the floor and pull it towards me. If I push forward the suction is broken and it skids.

Anyone know what I mean?

My Dyson didn't come with that but man do I wish it did!!!!

There was a user comment in the link about detaching something before using the tool....did you try that?

I'll mail it to you! I did a little more research on the web and found people are pretty dissatisfied with it, for the same reasons I described. It gets a great suction on flat surfaces, but then you can't move it. Plus it seems like it might be scratching the surface. And in order to make really maneuverable around corners it's really loose, which makes it, well, floppy.

I have that and never use it either . I know it's for under sofas and beds, but our sofa sits too low to use it and we have boxes under our bed.

We had it. I never used it and tossed it in the trash after a year or two - and two or three moves that we made.

I have that and also never use it. It actually adjusts so that it can be used on hard floor surfaces, and it works great for my kitchen and hallway when it's adjusted like that. BUT, the adjustment doesn't stay put, and it ends up suctioning on to the floor too hard to where I can't move it. Soooo, it would be an awesome tool IF it would stay in place when adjusted for hard floors. Bah.

My dh loves it (we have all hardwood) and uses it all the time. It annoys me and I've only used it twice in the 3 years we've had our dyson.
