Thread Starter
Practical Homeschooling, Homeschooling Today, Home Education Magazine, or This Old Schoolhouse?

My budget is becoming limited, so I can only pick one right now....

Thanks!

i would love to be reminded of the focus/pros and cons of each of these as well.

The library gets HEM, so i have access to that, and i think TOS is pretty conservative, right? What about PM and HT?
Anyone?

HEM is the only one of the three that isn't conservative.

HEM is wonderful, by the way, and people can get a free sample copy through this page of their website. HEM was to my early homeschooling experience what Mothering was to my early pregnancy and parenting experiences . - Lillian

I just get support online; here, and at the Well-Trained Mind forums. I also check in sometimes with the Sonlight forums, as we use their curriculum.

I would never get any of them, EXCEPT for HEM, to which I have subscribed for years. It's a great mag. I also enjoy Secular Homeschooling Mag.

ETA: This Old Schoolhouse used to (still does? not sure) have the Pearls write columns for them, and sometimes advocated switching (hitting with sticks) children in the course of the homeschooling day. I have also read articles that advocate wifely biblical submission in it, which obviously, isn't everyone's cup of tea.
