maybe try posting it in off the grid? those country folk make all sorts of stuff.
soap is really easy, unless you are trying to do it with a toddler underfoot, then you have to invest in a baby gate for the kitchen. and because the baseboard is the thickest baseboard in the world you will have to make special plates and mounts for said baby gate and it will turn into the most complicated endevor ever embarked upon and your husband will forever resent you.
just saying.

Hello,

Soap Making belongs in Natural Body Care or Arts and Crafts.

You can find information for beginning soapmaking at millersoap.com

I like the Soapmaking book by Country Living for beginning soap making. It has a lot of pictures and good simple recipes.

Why do you want to make it with only palm oil? A 100% palm oil soap wouldn't be very nice. It wouldn't bubble very well and it would probably be drying.

Olive oil makes a nice soap if you want a 100% of a certain oil.

Thanks, abimommy!
It's intended to be a gift for a friend with extensive allergies. I suspect her daughter (allergic to coconut) is reacting to their cleaners (body and home) and I know the thought of trying to replace them is sort of a straw that broke the camel's back type thing... Palm (and grassfed lamb fat) is the only safe fat of which they're certain... Although, I don't believe olive is an IgE reaction so I was half-considering adding a little and/or making a castille soap for her to use as she sees fit.
