Plan

I screamed at ds last night. He doesn't seem to care, but I feel horrible.

I am thinking I should put a plan in place for moments when I just can't take any more. Anyone have a plan?

He's five and he sometimes gets very intense and screams and goes crazy clinging to met, etc. Offering him things, etc. doesn't distract him. I was offering to read to him last night, etc.

What plan could I have?

I just wanted to say, I hear you. You need to think of something that will get YOU in the right place mentally. Don't distract him. Figure out how to get yourself in a better place--could it be that you need a warm bath while he watches bob the builder for 20 minutes. Could it be that he wants to go for a walk with you?

I don't have many answers, but i have empathy. Hugs.

Yes, usually am able to take him out, etc., but this was at night. I need something in place for at night. I certainly need to get in a better place. I think I will walk away even if he is screaming for a minute or so next time.
