My name is Kate and I am a first time mom living in the Metro DC area (Fairfax County near the city of Vienna, Virginia). My DD Alana was born on 10/15/09. My user name ("Kayalana") is a hybrid of her name and mine.

I look forward to posting and reading all of your posts - especially those having to do with breastfeeding, post-partum recovery, co-sleeping, returning to work, and local Metro DC community questions.

We recently moved from northern Virginia. I really miss being up there.
