I love how it says "Infant shots, a healthy dose of love" at the top of your sons record.

I have a similar record from 1987 and the only change between yours and mine was a dose of Hib at 22 months.

That's wild. What a sharp upswing in such a short amount of time. There's no way they can have adequately studied all the various possible interactions and combinations of the different shots and their effect on the immune system of an infant or small child.

I'm amazed by the difference. Thanks for sharing

I was born in '77 and my schedule isn't much different. I don't know if my parents just started late but I didn't get any shots until 5 months then 9 and 11, for the first 3 DPT and Oral Polio. Then again at 2 and 6 years.

I got MMR at 16 months. For some reason I got Hib at 10 years, it was just written in so I am thinking I must have gotten it along with one of my siblings since it was probably added to their schedules by '87.

The schedule for my oldest son was DTaP-IPV-Hib and Men-C but starting at 2 months, then 4 and 6. MMR and Varicella at 17 months, though it's on schedule for 12 months I'm not sure why he got it late, can't remember, but that was the last shots he has gotten.

The sheer number of different vaccines is crazy.

Yeah that caption makes me wanna barf Luckily in CA we didn't get anything like that.

My record is from 82. I had a TB shot at birth, then was started on DTP at 6 months (every 2 months), on OPV at 12 months (every 2 months) and I received one measles shot at 12 months too and then nothing until age 6 (DT and OPV), thereafter nothing for a long time since it wasn't mandatory anymore.
Anyways, crazy how that changed.

Which is why I want to scream every time I hear a pro-vaxer use the argument "We were all vaccinated as kids and we're fine."

I think people have blinders on when it comes to the word vaccine. They think they are all the same and if something is called a vaccine, then therefore it is safe and necessary. It's like saying Vioxx is good because penicillin is. Ugh.

I was born in 78 and my mom didn't even start my vax until I started kindergarten in 83. I don't know if it was just my moms dr or my mom actually didn't want to vax for some reason, but when I ask her now, she just says she did what the Dr. said, but she knew it wasn't until right before school started, then I had to get my "booster" shots when I was 12. So yeah, I did just fine, because I got hardly any and I was MUCH older.
