Wheat grass juice

Not sure what thread to post this in...

Does anyone make wheat grass juice? What do you use? How much do you drink everyday? Is it safe while breastfeeding? Ever use barley or oat grass?

Well, I have made it before, but it's not something I do everyday. Wheatgrass juice tastes WAY better than barleygrass juice. blech. I tried growing barley grass before, and maybe I grew it for too long, but there was NO sweetness in it at all like there is with wheatgrass. But, I do like the barleygrass juice powders that you can buy, so I don't know. I just juice it in my Omega juicer.

I did for awhile. I stopped because I wasn't in any way convinced that it was worth the hassle. I also don't think it was awesome for me. It was great (and always is) the first few times after not doing it awhile, but then it makes my stomach burn. Dunno....I prefer juicing other wonderous things that make me happy.

This might be a little far out for anyone looking to benefit from wheat grass consumption... But I used to just take a big ole' mouthful and chew it until the fiber was a teeny tiny ball. Didn't have a juicer. It helped cure my debilitating wrist pain. Just one mouthful a day for a couple weeks seemed to take care of it. I've read that a lot of people react to drinking the juice... i.e. the stomach burn from a pp. Maybe the chewing allowed for better mixing with saliva/digestive juices or enzymes or whatever? *shrug* I liked it, didn't think it tasted bad at all. Would do it again, for sure.

I am only going to try a tablespoon a day. I have the grass growing now. I am also sprouting wheat for wheat milk and rejuvelac. Yeah, I am using alot of wheat. I recently bought 1000lbs of organic amish wheat for $100. We are mainly using it for sourdough bread, so I am trying other healthful uses.

I too prefer other juices, but we are pretty broke and I can't afford many vegetbles and I am looking to get greens somehow.

StrongBeliever, my aunt used to chew wheat grass in place of gum and helped heal a terrible tooth ache that way. I will try it, but I will have to juice it for my 2 yr old.
