Nursing Tank Tops With No Boobs?

Nursing Tank Tops With No Boobs?

I know that sounds crazy, but I saw these tanks in a magazine a few months before I got pregnant and thought they were such a great idea. Now I can't for the life of me find them. They were simple little tank tops that would cover your abdomen while nursing, but they were made to go over a good nursing bra and not cover it. Does that make sense? The top of the tank was just cut lower so that your boobs aren't covered by it in the front. The only nursing tanks I can find have the built in bra, which just doesn't work for me, I'm a big girl and I need a real bra. LOL!
Has anyone seen these? TIA!

Oooooohhhh, i have not seen these but i want them! I will be watching for an answer.
Right now i just buy really low cut, and one size up, long tanks (like at old navy, for cheap) and then pull down the top to access the bra, and since they are cheap i don't care if i stretch them out.

I haven't seen them either but I did something like it.The tanks didn't work for me either and I didn't want my side flab hanging out so I cut a slit in a tank top right across where my boobs went and wore my nursing bra under.Worked great!

Are you talking about a Milkshirt?

I haven't tried them because they seem a little expensive for what they are, but it seems like a good idea.

I bought somethign like you described and they totally don't work very well. The strap is supposed to criss cross over but it usually ended up showing (I wear modest v-cut shirts). I can't remember what the name was. Basically the fabric starts below your bra and the long straps keep it on you (criss crossed) and the fabric covers your belly.

Now that it is winter I just wear loose tank tops under my shirts since the extra layer is comfy. I do like to keep my belly covered, especially in the winter. Much more about keeping warm than trying to be discreet(-:

There are belly huggers, that might be like what you are looking for.... Can't find what I had bought a while back, I"ll have to look at the tags, lol

No, that's not it... But seeing that I don't see why just cutting out circles in a cheap tank wouldn't work, LOL!

The one's I'm talking about were more like a camisole tank, with spaghetti straps and no material above the boobs. It's hard to explain, but I don't think they had crossing straps either. Hmmm...

I looked at what I had and it was sold by mylovelycloset.com. I didn't see it anymore though. It might work for some people. I'm pretty narrow shouldered, so I can see it could be just something that didn't work for me. At the time it was an ebay thing, and it was fairly cheap.
It was basically a stretchy fabric with long spaghetti straps that could be adjusted. So it might be what you were looking for, except it really had to cross, otherwise it just would slid off (at least for me-of-the-narrow-shoulders). The fabric was really just a band of fabric that sat right below the bra line.

In theory it sounds like a great idea, but I'm not completely sure the design works. What I think would be better would be attaching a piece of fabric to the bottom of the nursing bra-- if there was an easy way to do that.
I also found that the stretch fabric just sort of rode up and didn't end up covering my belly, w/o me tugging it down.

I've started using a yoga bra top, or the extra tank layer as mentioned-- I can't seem to find one of my favorites lately, so this has been on my mind. I should have 'splurged' on a belly hugger about a year ago when I was having the urge (or back when I was pregnant- I kind of thought they might work okay).

I'd be happy to mail one of my shirts (or both) to someone (for free). I think one would fit in a regular 5X7 envelope or so. I really have not worn them at all to justify saving them. One is pink and one is black. I'd say they are a med/sm size, stretchy. PM or email me. Gee, I guess I should have grabbed it to take a picture.

A mama friend told me she wore a Bella Band for months afterward to cover her belly. I've got a couple of the (cheaper) Target version and will likely do the same. I'd also thought about the cheap tank top idea and just pull it down. I can't do shelf bras either!

I do something similar, cut large holes in thin, form-fitting tank tops and wear them UNDER my nursing bra. The result is very comfortable and easy to use, I wear the "wrap" style nursing bras and I can "get it out" and "put it away" completely discreetly, even from outside my shirt without looking. And no skin shows anywhere
