Toddler Kushies Question

Thread Starter
So, in the reviews, it seems like these toddler diapers, Kushies all-in-one, should be pretty absorbent. I got some for my dd and they don't last through the night. I got them in hopes of avoiding using a doubler and/or extra cover, but they don't do the trick. Is it possible that I just need to wash them a bunch to increase absorbency? Or am I just out of luck?

i got these for my dd for montessori and she only used them for a month or 2 before pling....but i found *most* of the time they were ok, but what i realized she was doing was holding her pee and then peeing out really fast which sometimes would mean they would leak out the legs cuz they didnt have enough time to absorb. also they run rather large so i had to be sure and fasten them on her really well, sometimes when the teachers changed her they would barely fasten them on and then we would get leaks too.

Is the entire diaper soaked or just one part? If the whole diaper is wet, it probably isn't absorbent enough. My kushies had to be fastened just so or they would leak. Really watch the leg holes to make sure none of the flannel is sticking out, and make sure it is tight enough. Mine did seem to get more absorbent over time, but I still had to use a doubler overnight. You can always just lay a washcloth in it, so you really don't have to stuff anything. I have found the kushies to be very finicky so I don't really use them at all anymore.
