Hi All,
I would like to start a photoblog but need some feedback before I dive in...
First a bit about me and what I have to offer potential readers:
I am a former professional photographer in the film world. (weddings, portraits, fine art etc) I had a darkroom for years and loved the time I spent making images.
Now that I help my DH run our restaurant as well as run our household with my DD (3) and another one on the way any day now, my photography has taken a back seat.
I want to pick up a camera again (other than the digital point and shoot we have that I hate b/c the images are so blah) but considering the trend in technology I am diving into digital.
I plan to share my existing knowledge about photography (technical terms as well as composition and technique) as well as share my journey into digital.
My questions to you all are this:
If you truly understood photography would you buy a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) vs a digital point and shoot?
What is it that intimidates you most about digital photography?
Do you want to take better pictures of your life (kids, vacations etc) or are you content to go to a studio and leave it to the pros?
Do you like using services such as shutterfly and snapfish?
If it was as simple as buying a good camera ($500-$600 range) and knowing how to use that camera well, then using a service like shutterfly to share and print your images, would you do it?
Would you follow a blog dedicated to helping you do just what I listed above?
Thanks for your feedback.
