I am just wondering if anyone has any reliable information about siblings being at greater risk for vaccine reactions if other siblings had reactions.
Basically, I have to take my step son in for a peds appointment and I know the issue of why we are no longer taking our infant in for his wbv with this ped will come up. Long story short, I have decided not to vaccinate my infant. I only vaccinated my oldest son on schedule, my second son didn't get his first vax until he was 6 years old (well almost), and then my step son and a few other kids of mine (bio kids but they were surrogacy kids) had their vax on time. My oldest son, my step son and the surrogate kids had reactions. My second son did not have any at all when he got his, but he again was almost 6 years old. I dont' want to risk it at all with my baby.
Anyway, the ped told me she couldn't support me not vaccinating the baby because there is no evidence anywhere that reactions are not more likely just because a sibling had them (although I don't see how that could be in our family consider 5 of the 6 bio siblings of my son have had some kind of reaction and the one who didn't have any, is the one who didn't get them until he was older).
So basically, I want something to give to her to read. I am taking my infant to a new Dr. so that isn't an issue, but my step son still will be going to her. He is seen far too often and has way too many issues to not have a local ped. The infant will be seeing a Dr. 200 miles away for just well check ups.
