How wide are your garden beds?

I'm in the process of planning a new garden for next year. In the past I've used the square foot garden approach - which advocates beds that are 4 feet by 4 feet - this size means its easy to reach any part of the bed from at least two sides. Recently I was reading Four Season Gardening and there beds that are 30" wide are suggested because they are narrow enough to straddle - it seems to me that maybe paths could be narrower at this width. I'm wondering what other people have chosen to do, and what you think now of your decision.

I don't think I'd like straddling the garden beds, it seems like it'd be awkward! Not to mention if you had taller plants in there My bed to me is 1.2metres square.. haven't actually set it up yet but I think it will be good as I can reach into the centre from any side And I can also link 2 to go 2.4 x 1.2 and still reach into the centre from both sides.

our beds are 4ft by 15ft with 2ft paths. I can push the weelbarrow down the rows, a piece of pvc pipe hoops across perfect to turn beds into cold frames giving me an extended season in both ends.

My beds are 4 feet wide. I just made another bed that will probably end up being 5 feet wide. My paths are 18". I wouldn't do anything smaller than 4 feet, I think it creates more un-usable space because you have to create more foot space.
