Can't stomach FCLO

I just spent $40 on a bottle of Green Pasture's Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Oil. I tried a small amount and quickly lost my dinner (could be due in part to the fact that I'm 12 weeks pregnant). I really don't want to waste the money I spent. Does anyone have any ideas on how I might take it without losing my lunch? I should also mention that it's the Chocolate Cream flavor (I though it sounded good at the time).

I like the cinnamon tingle, for next time, might be nice and warming while you pg especially if your feeling a little quesy. it probably totally a pg things that you threw it up, I always got pretty sensitive to things with both my kids. Otherwise are you feeling good?

I would suggest trying to take it with something, maybe honey?

thats usually how i get my kids to take icky stuff, funny though they LOVE their FCLO, my 16 mos. actually asks for more everytime and they both take straight up with no chaser.

you can also try capping it, those capping dispensors are pretty cheap and work great for stuff like this.
I've also heard people putting in smoothies and other types of drinks, get creative, just get it in you cause its so wonderful especially the green pastures stuff! and especially cause your pg! congrats!

Sorry to hijack, but do your kids take the cinnamon flavor too? I'm about to order, but thought the cinnamon might be too strong for kids.

I have tried the cinnamon and so far, I like it the best. My kids who are 5 and 2 take it straight off the spoon. My older dc complained it was hot for a few days, but now she is used to it. Younger dc never cared so I don't think it can be too hot(just normal 5yr old complaints .)

I also bought the chocolate cream kind thinking it sounded good. I don't think anything could make fclo taste good! What I finally ended up doing was mixing the fclo/bu in a shot glass with a bit of very hot water. then I take it like a shot while holding my nose. Have something to "chase" it wiht right away, like orange juice or something else pretty strong.

The problem with the mix is that the butter oil makes it solid so you kind of have to mouth it around to get it down. Next time, I'll get the clo and bu separately.

P.S. I am now about 21 weeks preg, and around 12 weeks, the smell of fclo was enough to make me lose my supper as well! Congrats

yeah, i found the chocolate cream revolting, too. luckily, i had a local friend who likes it and bought it off me. i went back to the capsules. a little more $$ but worth it, IMO.

nak

i have the same one, and i just couldn't stand it. i called the site that i ordered it from, ti see if there was any way to get a refund, because i.could.not.take.it!they said they couldn't do that, but they did give me some great advice: leave it at room temp (don't put it in the fridge at all). when you take it, mix it with a small amount of room temperature water. i take it like this now, and i don't even notice the flavor. my 4 y/o takes it this way too, and he asks for more (he's a little nutty about weird flavors though ).

hth!

The kids & I all take the cinnamon FCLO right out of the syringe.

yes. we all take the cinnamon flavor. my partner who always vowed that he couldn't do the CLO thing is now converted!

i have tried a couple other flavors and i must say there is something about the warming energy of cinnamon that really helps it to go down for me...not sure whats going on for everybody else, but like i said my kids love it!

my kids liked the cinnamon in the beginning but don't anymore. i can't stand it. sometimes we've put it in smoothies (kefir, egg, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, banana) and that was okay but we got sick of it after a while. my 2yo never really liked them anyhow. so i would love more good ideas for the cinnamon FCLO specific to kids especially! i've just been giving them the nn arctic d in the meantime but i would like to continue the fermented if possible.

Thanks, I'll try this.

I am taking the fruit attack gel... I measure it, and then use my finger to put it toward the back of my tongue where I swallow it quickly and don't taste as much. Then I chase it with raw milk. Still not the favorite thing I do, but it's tolerable... barely.
