shedding question

My friend's daughter is going to start school next week. Because she hasn't been vaxed in a couple years the school is telling my friend that her dd has to have the following vaxes tomorrow: polio, mmr, dtap, hepA, and a TB test. We are schedule to have Thanksgiving at our house the next day. My children are not vaxed. Only the HepA will be the first in the series of vaxes. Should we be worried about shedding?

I'm also interested in the replies. I have a friend that fully vaxes her child. Sometimes she asks me to come over. I've told her to tell me if her child has had vaccines in the last week, and if so we'll just have to keep the babies separated, or not go over altogether.

The only live vaccine on that list is the MMR...it can theoreticlly shed, but I think any chance of transmission would be quite low...

I came to ask this question too...searched this section, and am still confused.
Is anyone aware of any research done on this issue (suppose not)?

I have a friend who wants to visit us (we have a with 4wk old), and bring along her 2mo who just got about 4 vax's- including one "nasal"? I haven't had a chance to ask which one's. I'm wondering if we should reschedule our visit...? WWYD?

The nasal one is the rotovirus vaccine. DO NOT come in contact with the baby's poo. Have her change the baby on something she can wipe down with a disnfectant. The baby can also get "rotovirus like symptoms" after the vax. Its a live vaccine and does shed

thanks for your reply!
so do you think the only way that this could get transmitted is through direct contact with the vax'd baby's poo, or could it be airborne or through physical contact? obviously the babies wont be touching each other- so from like the vax'd mama to me to my baby for example? Would you bring your baby around someone who just had live vaccines? Can you tell me of any reliable places to get more info on this issue? Sorry for so many questions! (I didn't mean to high-jack this thread!)
Thanks again.
