Help me find a baby carrier that will work from here on out. BOBA???

DD is 8 months old. When she was first born, we used a sling, and that was great until she got too heavy for me to carry on one non-padded shoulder. Then I made a wrap style carrier, and it was great, but it didn't have as much give as some of the other wrap style carriers that you can get on the market, so at 8 months old, she's getting to the point that I'm not as comfortable carrying her in it for long periods of time, so I'm looking for a carrier soon that will be comfortable and supportive for both of us from here on out.

Basically, I think I'm looking at mei tai's and SSC's. I think I'm leaning toward an SSC just because I'm tired of having straps hanging down on the floor. Basically, what it needs to do is:
-fit both me and my husband with our 8 month, ~17 lb and very tall baby comfortably from now (or soon, maybe Christmas?) until she doesn't need to be worn anymore (which is like middle school, right? j/k... I think...)
-be able to adjust for nursing
-be comfortable and supportive for my baby/toddler/preschooler and proper hip and leg positioning
-not cause plugged ducts

Ideally, it would:
-be made of organic materials
-support a sleeping baby
-be able to work from birth on (but it's much more important that it work well for a toddler, so no compromises on that)
-not cost an arm and a leg (but I'm willing to make an investment if it's worth it)
-not be too hot in the summer

I really like the sleep hood in a lot of the SSC's and the infant attachment in the ERGO, but I'm wondering if the best option might be the BOBA. It's the only one I've found that has foot straps to support the baby's legs when she gets tall enough that her legs dangle. I also like that it's organic and costs less than the ERGO. Also, with DD in the 97%ile for height, I wonder if I'm really going to want the extra height and width. I'm just wondering if anybody has actually had any experience with it. Is it any more or less comfortable than other SSC's or mei tai's? Is the lack of a sleep hood a problem? Is it a good quality, safe, and secure carrier? How well does it wear? Do the foot straps actually work? Do they get in the way? Are they such a new company that nobody's heard of them?

We LOVE our ergo. Ds is very tall & heavy for his age & it works great. Dh & I can both comfortably wear it for long periods of time.

I've never seen the boba before, my concern with the foot things is that the child would be able to push into them & "stand" up which might be dangerous & certainly irritating.

I started using the ergo baby carrier when DS1 was 3 months old, and used it until he was 3 years old. I used it with DS2 from the time he was 2 weeks old, and still use it, plan to use it with DS3, who will be born this spring. I found it by far the most comfortable carrier for my shoulders and back, and by far the easiest to put on, at least in the front carrying position (back carrying isn't hard, but takes some practice, unless someone helps position the child FOR you, which is helpful). I never tried to nurse in it; I was always happier sitting down and taking a nursing break, so I can't speak to that, although the promotional materials say it's possible. I swear by the ergo; it's one of the only baby THINGS that I really use just about every day. I'd love to hear others' thoughts about ergo vs. mei tei.

We also love our ergo. We got it when my dd was maybe 11 weeks old and we still use it everyday and she is 27 months old. The height has never been an issue for us, but the base of the seat doesn't go from knee to knee anymore. Her legs certainly don't dangle yet however, and she never complains, in fact she is always asking to go in it. The ergo comes in organic options.

I haven't tried a Boba, but I don't think I'd ever use the stirrups. Some people will find them useful, I'm sure, but I can't picture my dd using them. I think they would annoy her. Or like a pp said , she would try and use them to push herself up. I do however use the sleep hood on the ergo a lot still, so I don't know if I would want a carrier that couldn't support my dd's head.

JMO.
