vegan sub for half & half or heaving cream?

I want to make a couple of recipes that I love for Thanksgiving that has half & half or heavy cream but prefer to make it vegan. Are there any subs?

It kind of depends on what you're using it in, but I've generally had good luck with subbing Silk coffee creamer for half and half type stuff.

If it's gravy silk creamer is great.

But, I really love coconut milk. A full fat one works so wonderfully.

Sometimes unsweetned soy milk or almond milk works just fine for things.

You could probably make a roux with any milk you prefer (my personal favorite lately is sesame) and flour.

I have been toying with the idea of using fresh mylks and psyllium powder as a thickener.

Have a wonderful holiday! It will all come out great whatever you do!

Raw, unsalted cashews blended with water, equal measure for thick cream, more water for something thinner.

I think the coconut milk would be the best sub. I believe I've seen boxed 'vegan cream' sub's before, and depending on the dish, a boxed creamy soup or even veg stock could possibly work too).

i use silk creamer in most recipes calling for half and half. there is a cream subsitue someone mentioned on here once that looked amazing.

I also use the Silk creamer a lot. But, I love cashew cream like catnip said. It really imparts a very dairy-like, cream-like richness to dishes. I love it in mac and cheez.
