How the heck to I keep cucumbers fresh?

Within a few days of buying cucumbers, they always get slimy and mushy. What is the best way to store them to give them a longer life in my fridge?

Thanks!

The reason conventional cucumbers are coated in wax (and English wrapped in that shrinkwrap plastic) is that cucumbers don't keep long at. all.

It could be that you just need to use them faster. Do you put them in your veggie drawer (crisper)?

Otherwise, it could be:
1. What is your fridge temperature? Buy a fridge thermostat and make sure your fridge is not warmer than 40 degrees.

2. Deep clean your fridge, especially your veggie drawer, in case there are some bad bugs in it that are making things worse.

I have the same complaint. I wonder if those Debbie Meyer veggie bags work with cukes?

Wrap them individually in a paper towel.

We cover the cut end with plastic wrap. It seems to help it last somewhat longer.

As soon as one of us cuts into a cuke, we put the remainder into a glass jar. Keeps so much longer!

I used the Debbie Meyer Green Bags and they did help. The cucumbers still went faster than other things I used the bags with.
