The ped called this morning with a referral to a dentist, they squeezed me in this afternoon, and performed the procedure right then. He nursed tonight even though I know he was sore (he has 1 stitch in his upper lip). The dentist was hesitant to do it at first because in most babies it's stretchy, but when he did it, he commented on how tough and fibrous his was (i.e. not stretchy), and that's why we were having problems.

So his latch has already improved. I'm going to order some Dom, and spend 2 days next week doing nothing but nursing him to try to get him back on the breast. Even if I can't produce a full supply, with a proper suck I should be able to produce some.

connor's lip tie was more extensive, he had 5 frenulums, so when he came out of surgery he had stitches all along his gumline. but he still nursed while coming out of anesthesia! granted he was 11 months old and had been nursing his whole life, but i was surprised he latched, i thought he might not for a day or so.
