Sleep Crawling????

My DS started crawling a few weeks ago and now in the middle of the night he'll roll onto his stomach, push himself up, crawl a little bit, and then collapse back onto his stomach and flail around for a while. It doesn't seem like he's really waking up when he does this. He's sort of half awake I guess. And he doesn't even seem to notice when he crawls straight into the wall.

Does anyone else have a baby who sleep crawls? If so, how do you deal with it? The only solution I can think of is to go buy more pillows so I'll have enough to put against the wall on 2 sides so he doesn't hit his head, and on the floor on the other 2 sides in case he crawls off the mattress.

My DD did this right before crawling forward when awake and before pulling up and cruising. She'd wake herself up doing it. It only lasted for a couple of weeks. It stopped completely once she was cruising.

My baby did that when she first started crawling.

She slept right through it.

It was actually pretty cute.

Now, she flips over and sleeps in the strangest positions.

To protect her, we moved our mattress to the floor and I flanked the side closest to the wall with some pillows.

Now she moves around so much but she's old enough that when she occasionally hits the wall, she doesn't do it heavily and she repositions herself.

Just you wait, in no time your baby will be crawling all over the place.

Oh, he already is crawling over the place. Just up until a few days ago it was only when he was awake.

My mattress is already on the floor and I have pillows lining the wall, so I guess I've done everything I can do.
