What did you think of the movie Fireproof - Page 2

I liked it, though the acting was really, really bad.

I've added Not Easily Broken to my Netflix queue.

I'm moving this thread over to the Media forum since much of the discussion is focused on the "technical" side of this film (acting, pacing, general film reviews).

If you'd all like to start a thread in Spirituality specifically focused on the "spiritual/religious" side (perhaps a discussion of spiritual marriage in film?) please do!

I watched all 3 of their movies and my favorite was actually the first one (name escapes me at the moment, sorry!) Facing the Giants was their 2nd one. I liked all 3 movies and I watched them earlier this year in reverse order from the way they came out (watched Fireproof first, facing giants 2nd, and the other one last). Since its been at least 6 months since I seen them, I can't comment on specific things in this movie (bad memory!) lol but there were a few things that irked me about it, but other features in the movie made up for it. I do remember some surprise twists in the plot which were neat. What I liked best about all 3 movies were they were not shallow and had a deeper underlying message and all 3 were original movies... so much more different than "hollywood crap" as one PP put it! I will be watching all 3 again sometime. They are keepers!

I think the name of the first movie was Flywheel.

Also, Sherwood Baptist just named the title and theme of their next project. It's going to be called Courageous and is about fatherhood, so it looks like that will get into more of the family-with-kids dynamic that has seemed to be missing from their other movies.

I expected the bad acting in Fireproof after reading the reviews, but overall I really liked the message of the movie. I thought my DH would roll his eyes at it, but it did really make an impression on both of us. I think if you are prepared for the bad acting it is actually pretty good.

I mostly agree, but I think that the movie is meant to be focused on the husband's POV so that explains the un-balance a bit.

I wanted to like this movie and over all I did. It was painfully cheesy at times though. The gluing together of the salt and pepper shakers killed me.
