Ped knowledgeable about uncirced boys in South Jersey/Philly?

I am looking for a pediatrician who would be able to, for lack of a less direct way of saying this, look at my son's penis and make sure my former pediatrician didn't mess it up. I had a feeling that what she was doing was nothing more nor less than retracting him, but I was just shocked that a young, suburban, delayed/no-vax friendly, no-circ friendly doctor would do it, so I waited far too long to challenge her on it. I still haven't. I know I need to, but I have a hard time with that authority figure thing. l

Anyway, I want someone who knows what they are doing to take a look, and I am also looking for a replacement doc who will take proper care of it. I guess if he is actually retracted I will have to start cleaning him and such - anyway, these are the things I need a good doctor who knows what s/he is doing to advise me on.

Any recommendations?

No dr recs, but I don't think this:

is true. I believe you'd still want to leave it alone, even if your ped retracted it. I'd suggest you post in the Case Against Circumcision forum to find out. That way, you could judge potential drs' knowledge by whether or not they know that info.

I don't think there is much for a doctor to look at at this point in time. Any potential damage from previous retraction is not going to be discernible now. You will only know if he has issues with retraction when he's grown up, or if he has problems with recurrent infections. And there's nothing that can be done about it; the deed is done as they say. The only action you can take at this point is to make sure that no one ever retracts him again except himself. Don't let any other doctor do it, and don't do it yourself.

Well, a doctor could tell whether there is an infection, right? I know I sound clueless, but I just don't know what I should be seeing. An uncut infant penis is not something I am familiar with. I will head to the circ board and see if I can get some guidance on how to spot infections and what I should look out for.

In the meantime, I would love recommendations for no-circ / delayed-vax friendly peds in the area! If I must, I will bring the guidelines to my doctor and tell her to stop retracting him, but I would rather work with someone who knows what they are doing on their own.

Moving in Plainview. Ped recommedation?

Hi my name is Jessica
We are moving to Plainview in March. I am looking for a natural minded pediatrician?
Also a pediatric dentist?
I have an almost 3 year old little girl and an 8 mo. old baby boy. I would love to meet other like minded moms that live close by. I know Plainview is not a very natural minded area. Do any of you guys do any playgroups?

Jessica, you probably want to post your message in a separate thread - this one doesn't get much traffic! Is Plainview in NJ or PA? I'm not familiar with it.
