I am happy to update....

I am happy (NO ECSTATIC) to report that dh is 100% on board with a homebirth after meeting with a homebirth midwife tonight!!! He didn't even freak about money after I told him I had about a 1/3 of the money saved, he thought $2,000 (give or take some) was worth my mental health & it took no convincing at all. He told me he knew how important it was to me.

I have never loved my dh more than I do right now! I also LOVED the midwife we met with & will probably use her. I am going to interiew a few more just to make sure she is the one, but there was great chemistry & we totally clicked.

YAY! I know what a huge relief it must be! I had to "work" on my hubby for a while before he ... "consented" heh. Something about meeting with a competent birthing professional who is a proponent of homebirthing definitely helps!

Yayyy! Congratulations mama! I know exactly how it feels to have those pieces all fall into place... mine just did last week, at 34 weeks along! LOL!

How awesome that your DH is on board! My DP is as well and money was the biggest hurdle for us, too. He actually said he would gladly get a third job if it meant being able to afford a homebirth.

congratulations!!!! my husband was SO not on board the first time i brought it up, but yay for lovely, teachable, open-minded men!!!

wanted to say that i got a dvd for my husband, home birth dads, that he loved watching. the first parts have to do with getting used to the idea of home birth, so you're already past that, but maybe not by much? warning that the production value is home-video quality, but the content really is fantastic.
