Ahhh and your thread was the inspiration!!

To keep it rolling a bit more:

Some have mentioned but what "G" is your dc suspected or confirmed?

Me: I strongly suspect dd is MG.

DD 2. Too early to tell how gifted.

I watch her put a puzzle together and despair of her ever figuring out spatial relationships. As in, she'll never be able to drive let alone put together a puzzle.

And then she starts sequence counting or rattling off letters. Plus I think she is getting close to reading her first words. I was joking with a momma that once DD learns to read, I will likely never hear from her again unless it is demands for more books.

As for Ruff's (did I get the name right??) levels--DD is all over the spectrum on the traits listed.

Mine are suspected. Suspected from family history, others comments, and general freakishness.

dd,11 was suspected hg as a little one and tested pg at age 8. She's doing a mixture of homeschool, tutoring, online classes, and a charter high school.

DS will be 4 in early December.
(How about mid '05 through mid '06 being a good year?)
DS will be 4 in a few days, and DD will be 7 in January. I'm not sure how gifted they are, or even if they are gifted (but I'm guessing they are.)

dd#1 is almost 6 1/2, not sure if she is gifted. she's definately bright, inquisitive, and creative.

dd#2 will be 4 next month and i'm guessing she's gifted to some extent.

Suspected:
DS1 has serious challenges and is hard to pin down. My guess is we will eventually learn that he is EG.

I suspect that DD, DS2 and DS3 are at least HG. They are ahead of where DS1 was at this age, but don't have his challenges, so it is hard to compare.

Hi.

DS1 is 5.5 and I suspect he is 2E (sensory issues, ADHD-like) - and has traits like my FIL who has a PhD in mathematics but has difficulty expressing himself in words

DS2 is 2.5 and universally precocious to the point that it often attracts attention from strangers

No idea if they would test as gifted. There is a strong family history though, so it has been on our radar...

Unfortunately, it only took ds2 until he was about 12 mos before he was right in there pulling things apart with his brother . . . come to think of it, his favorite thing to tear apart is anything put together by his brother . . . .

Twin DD---just turned 4. (Oct)

DD1- most likely gifted

DD2- most likely 2E---special needs (mild cp, PPD_NOS) and suspected gifted

They both are wonderfully quirky, loving, energy filled girls that keep me hopping. They are my miracle preemies that were 'due' in Dec 05, but crashed the party early!

Ah, well, that's probably another thread in and of itself. I am confident that DD is at least MG. And it seems likely to me that she is HG, but I won't call that until she's tested. I'd put her at a Ruf level 4 in most areas, fwiw.

Both dds are "confirmed" if we are using IQ measures as the confirmation. Dd#1 tested MG at 7 although all of her achievement scores since then have been HG+ (close to DYS qualifying, but not quite). Her IQ scores were so erratic and she refused to complete parts of the test, so I suspect that she is likely more than MG although we've not had reason to retest.

Dd#2 is either MG or PG depending on which IQ test results we use. She's been tested twice. She's so erratic on achievement scores as well, that I just don't know what to think. However, given the IQ #s, I'll assume that she is at least MG.

DD - 2

Its early to know and I don't think I'll know how gifted she is til she's a bit older. She's reading some now (today while I was washing my hair she picked up a book and started reading it pointing to the words correctly so I grabbed the video camera as people are unlikely to believe us) knows the alphabet and will come up with different words for each letter - words we have never told her start with a certain letter) But she still counts 1,2,3,4,6,2
