Hi all,
I found this forum after seeing the Mothering magazine in the library I work at. I have been trying to find a publication and forum that supports my parenting methods.
A little about myself: My name is Denise, and I am a kiwi. I am married to Scott (who is from Liverpool, Uk) and we have a son called Lucian who is 11 months old. We are vegans, use cloth nappies (Itti Bittis are my favourites); I have breastfed Lucian since the day he was born (not one drop of formula has passed his lips!) and he was exclusively breastfed for 6 and a half months. He still BFs 6 to 7 times a day. We also select and delay his vaccines.
I work as a librarian and study full-time. I have a BA in International Relations, but decided when I was pregnant with my son to become a midwife. I feel very fortunate to live in a country that offers a women-centred approach to maternity health care and allows women the choice of what sort of birth they want. I will be starting my midwifery study in February and hope to specialise in home birthing at the end of my studies.
So that is it from me, and I will be posting away!! You have no idea how happy it feels to have a forum like this
