not immune to rubella and pregnant - WWYD?

So, I have just found out I am pregnant (5 weeks). I knew when I was pregnant with my first DD that I didn't have immunity to rubella and chose not to get the vaccine before getting pregnant again. I'm starting to feel paranoid and am starting to regret that decision.......

I work with kids with autism and therefore, go into schools on a regular basis. Here's my question:

Would you just NOT go into schools for the first few months? Or, would it not worry you? It's a possibility for me not to, but I can't tell if I'm being overly-paranoid or justly so.

Please give advice.
Thank you.

When I was pregnant with my second dc I found out that I was no longer covered as well. I worked at a facility for adults with dd (I was part of the closing team) so I had no choice but to be amongst a high risk group (not sure why but every appt I was asked if I worked with people with specil needs or seniors ). I have only ever met one person that heas had rubella so I really didn't worry about it. That kiddo is now 13 and driving me crazy!

I can't tell you what to do, but that was my experience.

You should see if you can find out your actual number. My first test in NYS they gave me an actual immunity number. There is also some evidence that people have more immunity than their titers show. Also not every baby exposed to Rubella gets CRS. I would not worry too much. Maybe I personally would do a little digging to see if most of my students were vaxed, but even that might be overkill. <3

When I was pregnant with #2, they found out through normal pregnancy testing that I was no longer immune to Rubella. All they did was after I gave birth was to give me a Rubella Vaccine, and tell me not to get pregnant for at least three or four months.

I really don't understand what the problem with Rubella and pregnancy is, if I went 20-30 years without getting Rubella before getting pregnant how likely is it that I will get it in the first 16 weeks of pregnancy? Personally I wouldn't get the vax if I wasn't immune and pregnant.
