Homeschool/Unschool Meetups in Madison?

Are there any homeschoolers/unschoolers who meet regularly in Madison? We live over an hour away, but would be willing to drive there sometimes if there is anywhere where you all hang out in an unstructured way. Help!

Hi!

There are a few groups in Madison - HOME & HEART are two that have regular activities.

How old are your kids? I have two boys, 5 & almost 7, and we always love to meet new people. Perhaps a park day or visiting the train show at Olbrich?

Our family have been members of HEART since about September and there is always something going on with-in the group! I am yet to really get to "know" any one family however since we tend to have so much going on that getting to the events are hard, but it is nice to know there are other unschooling/homeschooling family's getting together and that we are welcome!

I have been told about HOME but I'm yet to get in touch with any one from them.

I have two boys 7, and 4 and a daughter 1, unfoturetly since the cold weather has come along the activities we tend to do ( in other words *free* or low in cost) are far and few between but we are always up for new ideas and places!!!!

Can someone give me the HEART web link? (Is there one?) I can't find anything about it. Did find HOME. We plan to attend the Feb. unschooling conference. I would be very interested in joining in a field trip or something sometime, or meeting up at a park or something, sometime, too - though this is not the best time of year to be thinking of such things, I suppose! I have 2 boys, 6.5 and 3. We can only travel Thursdays or Fridays (only have one car).

Well there is no website, for they like to fly under the radar, as do many home schoolers do. But if you would like to pm me i can give you a contact. I would rather not give out the info on here since this is a public website.

This sounds exactly like what I've been looking for, like-minded families to meet for playgroup time! We're in Madison near Verona...anyone know if they meet near here? We have 3 boys: 4, 2.5, and soon to be born! Could someone please PM me with info? We've only lived here for 8 months now and this is such a relief to find info on!!!

I found the HOME website but only found HEART websites in other states, not for Madison.
